More expansively, the memoir makes the case for how our health is affected by the health of our waters, Stowe having witnessed the human impact of commercial exploitation and climate change on the health of the marine animals who depend on them.Jung, Hee-yeon (April 5, 2021). 레드벨벳 웬디, 오늘 솔로 데뷔[Red Velvet's Wendy Solo Debut Today]. They have called as well to Hannah Stowe, a writer who shares with us her response to that calling in her distinctly wet and salty new coming-of-age memoir. According to the South Korean entertainment outlet StarNews, Wendy will release her solo debut on April. [1] Following the report, SM Entertainment told Sports Kyunghyang to look forward to it. [2] Prior to 2021, she suffered a pelvic fracture and broken wrist, among other injuries and had been on a year-long hiatus due to a stage accident during the 2019 SBS Gayo Daejeon music festival. [3] On March 24, it was officially announced that Wendy will be having her solo debut. [4] The first batch of teaser photos were on the Red Velvet's official social media accounts. [5] "Like Water" had its official digital release on April 5, 2021, along with the extended play of the same name. For Stowe, who grew up in a “cottage by the sea,” enveloped on three sides by the waters of St. Bride’s Bay that empties into the Celtic Sea and the English Channel, she found “solace,” “energy,” and “always felt safe.”

Beautifully written memoir about growing up on the wild coast of Wales yearning for the sea. She handles the writing about the sea and marine science itself and the beautiful descriptions of 6 species of sea creatures in thrilling ways. This book definitely expanded my interest in and enthusiasm for the ocean and her amazing creatures! I would love to read more from Ms. Stowe. The slow pace ebbs and flows with illustrations and short poems, creating a pace that feels like the reader is out on water, constantly moving, even when standing still. Sometimes the narrative is gentle and supportive, other times it is driving, passionate and even a little frightening. Dodson, P. Claire (April 9, 2021). A love letter to the majestic beauty and lifegiving powers of the ocean world (Pembrokeshire, South West Wales, and sailing the North, North Atlantic, Mediterranean, Celtic, Caribbean seas; mid-2010s to present): If it only takes 120 minutes a week for humans to feel the benefits of being in Nature, what does that tell us about Welsh-born Hannah Stowe who says, “There was never a time when I did not know the sea”? Let Hannah’s captivating prose transport you on a journey across the waves, feeling the wind and salt on your skin, and always watching out for the tantalising glimpse of a whale. You will be enthralled by her personal story, invigorated by her energy and determination, and persuaded to think deeply about the ocean, its living treasures and the human troubles they face’ A story that’s painted with vivid imagery by an author who, like her mother, is also a painter. Each chapter is introduced presumably by one of Stowe’s charcoal sketches of the animals you’ll learn about. If it weren’t for the beauty of the prose, you could almost tell this story through images. Then again, if it weren’t for enchanted prose those images would not be painted for you at all or as deeply. Neither angry rant nor hopeless lament, Stowe balances her research knowledge with the well-founded hope that many seemingly insignificant human lifestyle choices can indeed add up to major positive changes in the health of all the world’s seas. Instead of pleading desperately for “ordinary” folks like us to become involved, she offers a welcoming invitation that promises not only challenges, but also joy and fulfillment. For me, that started with reading this beautifully composed book.

One of the biggest problems we have is we waste way much time on planning rather than taking action. In other words, it can also be called procrastination. We want to perfectly plan what to do five steps ahead. Instead what we really should be doing is to take the first step and then another and then another. Throughout “Move Like Water,” we are treated to little lectures about marine creatures and seabirds. But Stowe’s book is at its best when recounting her travails and triumphs in the first person. “I felt,” she writes about a dip in the ocean while recovering from a spinal injury. “I felt alive again, momentarily cleansed, my body burning from the cold salt water rather than from my damaged nerves. I felt like me. Like the sea.” Abanes, Mariel (June 16, 2021). "The 15 best K-pop songs of 2021 – so far". NME. Archived from the original on June 16, 2021 . Retrieved June 17, 2021. But, what does it really mean when Bruce said to be like water. There are many different interpretations of what it means to be like water and I will try to explain some of the most popular explanations here:

Media Reviews

As a young girl, Hannah Stowe was raised at the tide's edge on the Pembrokeshire coast of Wales, falling asleep to the sweep of the lighthouse beam. Now in her midtwenties, working as a marine biologist and sailor, Stowe draws on her professional experiences sailing tens of thousands of miles in the North Sea, North Atlantic, Mediterranean, Celtic Sea, and the Caribbean to explore the human relationship with wild waters. Why is it, she asks, that she and so many others have been drawn to life at sea—and what might the water around us be able to teach us? Stowe could sense but not articulate her longing for a different path. “I wanted to feel intrepid, to experience the rush of nerves as you push your own boundaries,” she tells us. “But, right now, I was just a 17-year-old from the coast with a handful of change from pulling pints in the pub in the evenings.” BGM Chart[2021, Week 15 BGM Chart] (in Korean). Gaon Music Chart. Archived from the original on December 11, 2018 . Retrieved April 15, 2021. Jones takes the reader on a thoroughly researched and enlightening journey, as she explores the connection between mental health and the natural world, from education practices, to therapy techniques to neuroscience. Jones’s message is clear. We need nature to be well and we need to work for and with nature.
