About this deal

The flavor is, as you would expect, very light and fruity. That apple flavor is once again making itself known, but there’s also a bit of vanilla from the barrels creeping in on the sides. The liquid itself is very light and thin, probably closer to the consistency of skim milk than most whisky. It’s delicious, that’s for sure. Light, crisp, and fruity. Easily sippable by itself, but I would caution that the lighter flavors might get lost among some of the common whiskey-associated activities (such as cigar smoking). On Ice

I always thought that was such a cool innovation, people using what was around them, which resulted in radically different whiskies. I just asked, is there a way to innovate via the usage of terroir? Single malts haven’t done that recently, and I felt that it was time.” You still get a little apricot, but you get these almost cooked, still very fresh fruit notes. It’s really cool to experience how those barrels can pull up the attributes of the distillate. A velvety texture coats the mouth upon the first sip. The initial wave of sweetness tantalizes the taste buds, with notes of crème brûlée, blueberry muffin tops, honey, and toffee providing a luscious foundation. This richness is followed by a delightful interplay of spices, as hints of cinnamon and nutmeg add depth. As the journey continues, the palate is treated to a symphony of fruits, with tropical flavors like pineapple and mango mingling. The fruitiness is beautifully balanced by a gentle oakiness, adding layers of sophistication. Finish Brenne is not just about great whiskey; it's also about social responsibility. The distillery commits to sustainable farming practices and eco-friendly production processes, reinforcing its dedication to producing high-quality, authentic French whiskey with respect for the environment. Their seed-to-spirit philosophy and terroir-driven profiles give an exciting and unique perspective on single malts. Both whiskey beginners and connoisseurs will appreciate the commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. A Short History of French Whiskey ProductionWith expressions like the Estate Cask and the limited-edition Ten Year, Brenne continues to impress with its distinctive flavor profiles and commitment to excellence. Experience the grace and flavor of Brenne French whiskey for yourself. After traveling the world, she met a third-generation farmer and distiller in the Cognac region and partnered with him to employ the practices of aging the whiskey in both new French Limousin oak and cognac barrels. Parc's innovative spirit and relentless determination challenge the normative "rules" in whiskey making, making her a trailblazer in the industry.

Brenne Ten Year and Brenne Estate are both single malt whiskeys. The key difference lies in their aging process and abv. Brenne Ten Year matures for a decade, resulting in a more complex and refined flavor profile. The Estate Cask variety ages between six and eight years. The abv of the Brenne Ten is 48 percent abv, higher than the Estate Cask bottle. TF: I think the topic of “women and whisky” stops further progress. We are focused on only that, and what has happened is that focus has brought up a lot of white women. Wherever there is a push for equality, white women will actually benefit first because it’s the most comfortable, there’s not as much risk. So, when do we really start to push and say, “Where is true diversity within the world of whisky?” because it hasn’t happened. I was looking at this 15 years ago and there has been little progress. No longer heading the Brenne brand, Parc is a consultant for entrepreneurs at various stages of business development, with future plans for whiskey brands. Keep your eye on her journey! Heaven Hill and Brenne French Whiskey Brenne 10 is the older, and higher proofed, sibling of the original Brenne which has been a divisive dram in the whisky world. Some people absolutely love it while others, like myself, can’t stand it and I think a lot of it comes down to if you’re a sweet person or not. Me, I’m salty-savory which is why I like big oaky bourbons, peated islay whisky and darker unpeated malts like Criagellachie.TWW: You are doing a lot of things which are driven by local consideration, in terms of the ingredients you’re using, and hat kind of gets that sense of terroir. Talk a little bit about what terroir means to you from a whisky perspective. It’s pretty well known by folks about wine, but for whisky, it’s a little more of a newer concept. Well-read and practiced in the art of distillation, a quarter French, and one hundred percent whisky loving, Patel is clearly committed to her product, which makes a sip of Brenne feel very genuine, indeed. Most importantly it is not a Scotch type whiskey distilled in another country. It is distilled from two varieties of barley grown at the distillery that gives a flavor totally different of any other whiskey I have tasted.
