The severely unlikeable main character, the weird racial comments, the two second switch to all is well at the end, the glossing over of the completely inappropriate circumstances of a romantic relationship, the painful predictability.I really hope for more books like this one in the near future , it was touching , informative , and sweet . Everything in life is just a tad off but the author does an excellent job tying it together by the end of the book. Frank and Youmans pack their debut with drama…The glitzy, high stakes world and gossipy narrative voice will put readers in mind of Crazy Rich Asians. This book brought a smile to my face and while it focuses on his family it can apply to anyone who feels different.

The illustrator takes each mistake and incorporates it into an expanding drawing until, voila, there is a magnificent two-page spread. Peet often raises awareness for dwarfism with a lighthearted and charming presence, shining a loving light on his mother and siblings, all of whom are little people. The relationships are portrayed with compassion and honesty, and the author’s note at the end that explains Hoover’s personal connection to the subject matter is a must-read.There is also a note to parents and caregivers by a psychologist that delves into raising kids to develop perseverance. She grew inside me, developed a heart right underneath mine and sometimes I know what she's feeling before she does.

I don’t read a lot of children’s picture books, but I thought that this one had a great message, and I enjoyed the illustrations.My son has autism and I have dyslexia, my parents never made me feel like I was different and my goal in life is for my son to know that even though he has autism that it is something that adds value to his life and that different doesn’t mean bad it just means you have something special that makes you stand out. Little Imperfections is a wonderful book about Pete, the author , sharing his experiences in a way that children can relate to . At thirty-nine, Josie Bordelon’s modeling career as the “it” black beauty of the ’90s is far behind her. Lovely blue hues accentuated the illustrations throughout this entertaining and educational "lesson". But it’s the characters, especially the marvelous Bordelon women, who give this delightful novel its heart and humor – and who make you long to be part of the family even after the last page.
