The outfit is tweaked to meet the look of Dark Force Rising with the addition of shoulder straps, a scarf, and Mara’s goggles - all additional pieces cast in their base colour and then glued around the neck and torso.It all works a bit better than I’d expected; many of Mara’s prior figures have looked a bit tossed together, but this sculpt flows rather nicely.

The head is executed in a real-world setting with an angular nose and cheek structure and photo-real printing for the eyes, lips, and some subtle shading on the cheekbones. It doesn't quite look like Shannon McRandle, but it definitely fits within her depiction and the many other artistic depictions of the character. Surely Mara Jade would sell as well as any random figure from Andor or any random Gaming Greats trooper. While those stories have been relegated to the Legends at this point, Mara Jade is one of the most popular characters who hasn't found her way back into the main canon/ new canon. The box is plastic-free so when you open the front cover, which is held in place with a slot-in cardboard tab and not Velcro like the previous releases, you are simply faced with another box front inside, not a look at the figure itself when we had window boxes.

I know it isn't a very popular figure due to it being merely a lazy Chewbacca repaint (whereas Krrsantan is supposed to be much bulkier), but just like Vice Admiral Holdo, I think he just looks great in spite of his shortcomings. I liked The Mandalorian season 3, I still love the Marvel Star Wars comics, and I'm very much enjoying Ahsoka, but I do have to say that Hasbro's Star Wars: The Black Series offerings haven't done much for me this year to date. To further differentiate Mara from Jaina, Mara gets extra add-ons for her shoulder harness, bandana, and goggles. She shares the torso and legs with that release and gets a new head and arms to differentiate things. The head is also in keeping with the real-world setting of the Black Series line and the accessories match the character.
