As an AFOL, most of my sets end up on display so I would definitely be lining up for more sets like this.

The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the base where the "stick" on the birds go, putting it through the 2 holes vs a more solid connection seemed like they will fall out at times. This sort of visual representation was booted when we all upgraded from our Ataris, Sega Master Systems and Commodore 64s. LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, and the Brick and Knob configurations are trademarks of the LEGO Group of Companies.I understand that having several colours on a model of this scale could easily take away from the model, but I was surprised they didn't use orange instead of the red but to be honest I saw the original in person and it didn't look right with the brown. I also really liked the blend of light blue, grey and white bricks, giving it a very layered and natural colour scheme. Birds is a wonderful breath of fresh air to LEGO Ideas and I believe is a shot in the arm to the Ideas ethos: providing a platform for creative fan-made models to become retail LEGO sets. The models are really great display pieces and are just a wonderful piece to adore the details on display. These beautiful and detailed models come with their own presentation stands showing their scientific names, so that you can display your birds for allto enjoy or detach and play as you wish.

I guess some folks would "fly" them but I feel these are more meant to be built and then displayed and appreciated. Referencing back to the photograph I can see that a Hummingbird also has yellow and blue but would look out of place with the presented scale like the Robin.
