I loved getting the background on the staff heading to work at JFK as well as the flight crew as they get their assignments. It’s something that happens to you, an accindent of circumstance, and you become a hero without ever meaning to.

As I mentioned in the opening of this review, there is definitely a blockbuster screen feel to this book and as a result, I could easily imagine it playing out in movie theatres. When the plane is in the air, a TSA employee on the ground discovers a postcard with a sinister message and alerts Homeland Security. Accidental Heroes proved to be a surprising and different read from Danielle Steel this time around. At a security checkpoint, Bernice Adams finds a postcard of the Golden Gate Bridge bearing an ambiguous message. Accidental Heroes is a heart-stopping thriller about ordinary people who embark on a journey they will never forget.

But her husband’s savage death in Iraq was more than anyone should bear, leaving her widowed with three children. Product Description Accidental Heroes is a heart-stopping thriller about ordinary people who embark on a journey they will never forget.

However, the drama of the lives of the supporting characters really brings entertainment to this book. A TSA agent discovers a postcard in one of the bins than has a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge on one side and a warning on the other. JIM FRANGIONE WAS GRUFF; EXHIBITING LITTLE OR NO VARIANCE IN THE TEMPO OR TONE OF HIS VOICE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BOOK. The story slowly built up the suspense as the ground investigation brought home some ugly truths, and it was left to Helen to bring all the passengers home. But as it emerges, there's someone on the flight planning something terrible and these strangers' lives entwine as they come together to help to avert a tragedy at the eleventh hour. I loved that we got POVs from different characters involved in this story – it should have been difficult to keep the characters straight in my mind; but with the simple writing style of the author, it was not only easy but also quite easy to be invested in the characters’ lives. Security agent Bernice Adams finds a postcard of the Golden Gate Bridge bearing an ambiguous message.

As flight A321 nears San Francisco, desperate choices need to be made and soon passengers, crew and experts on the ground become accidental heroes in their attempts to avert an airline disaster. When the security checkpoint worker’s first concerns are dismissed, she decides this message cannot be ignored and makes contact with Homeland Security. When Steel pits these characters against the odds, the story that emerges and the qualities these protagonists exude is quite liberating.
