I imagine the author was trying to spin the assault as kink but both the writing and the author’s understanding of kink are just the worst. Trigger warning or not , isn't it why 'no' isn't taken as an answer by some people because they think you secretly like it?

One reason was because it was so corny it was funny, and the other was because it was actually interesting seeing how fuckimg lame someone can make sex trafficking.

It's just awful and genuinely takes away from the atmosphere the author should be trying to create in these types of books. I would say that "dark romance" at this point in my reading career, is to hint at some form of sexual trauma and/or assault within the storyline. i thought i was desensitized to smut at this point but i was shocked, to say the least, at the words my eyes were reading. Z isn't just a stalker with a desire to assault the target of his obsession - he's also a super rich vigilante who works to stop sex trafficking! I’m sorry this wasn’t for you and many on here but don’t bash a book you dnf for something that wasn’t true.

I disagree with the sheer number of poor reviews on this book strictly due to the fact that the readers were unprepared for the disturbing and dark content. now before i get into it i gotta say that even though this book is marketed at 18+, i personally consider it 21+ it can be very triggering for some so tread lightly. Lastly, I did dnf this book, and I guess it is possible for it to get better (i think i heard the second book is better) but I'm really not interested in giving this book another chance. The plot is essentially the Zade (H) saving sex trafficked girls and women while hunting down and killing pedos. Anyway, definitely dropping this book, i really tried to power through telling myself that he must do something to redeem himself from the stalking and shit, but there is not redeeming rape to me.

When reading a review, we should also understand that one personal opinion doesn't necessarily reflect on the author, more so the reader and their specific tastes. You're the first person that's ever been annoyed by my not liking a book for my own personal reasons, and I'm sure you won't be the last. tuve que sentarme y leer DOS veces (hasta donde lei yo, estoy segura de que hay dos o tres mas) como el protagonista violaba a la protagonista mientras ella estaba tan cagada de miedo hasta el punto de hacerse pis encima, sin hablar que la mina es la protagonista principal mas ESTUPIDA que lei en m vida, y eso que he leído libros con minas pelotudas. the MOMENT I heard my man Teddy's voice being the narrator, it didn't matter if I've read the series or not.
