About this deal

Li-ion systems are relatively new to the UPS system space, but they can provide a number of key advantages for data center applications. These batteries generally have a higher specific energy/energy density than lead-acid batteries, a longer lifespan, a shorter recharge time, and are capable of completing a larger number of charge/discharge cycles (as many as two or three times more cycles than a lead-acid, depending on the chemical composition of the battery).

However, li-ion systems are more sensitive to charging and discharging methods. Most of these batteries include a battery management system (BMS) to protect against short circuits and overcharging. Charge and Recharge Efficiency: N1C Lithium Ion batteries can be charged/ discharged over 1000 times versus 200-400 charges/ discharges for standard VRLA batteries. N1C Lithium UPS units include built in chargers capable of 1-hour recharge times, compared to 4-10 hour recharge times of VRLA battery UPS systems. The Samsung SDI lithium-ion battery system is specifically approved for use with KOHLER Uninterruptible Power’s KOHLER PW 6000 (60-120 kVA), KOHLER PW 9250DPA, 9500DPA and MF series UPS systems. Samsung SDI is one of the most experienced producers of lithium-ion batteries in the world and has a long record of safely supplying systems for use in critical power systems. Life Span: The average life span of a VRLA battery is 4-6 years in ideal conditions. N1C Li-Ion battery life span is 10-15 year in nearly all conditions. Power failures are a fact of life, but if you are managing a data center or a corporate network, they can be catastrophic. Uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) help keep data centers humming even when there is a tripped breaker or larger outage. The Third tab down in the management interface is the controls tab. There is a little to see here, but you can control the power states of the entire UPS and each outlet group. VPM allows the remote monitoring of the power of up to thousands of PDU and UPS device. Remote trip of the battery cabinet breaker: note that the UPS does NOT generate the shunt trip command for battery breakers (a UPS "load off" or UPS EPO command will shut off the UPS but will not trip the battery breakers in the LG cabinets).
