About this deal

And her muteness adds an interesting layer to her connection to the men, empowering her allure and protecting her secrets. So bummed that it took me so long to get to this one, but also happy now that there's no wait to finish the duet. As well as displaying angsty-ness with tensions running high in certain events and situations they were faced with. It was all very poetic that I wanted to know more about their time together once they all started to come around but we skipped right to the Shylock and the Skull Brotherhood drama.

I have been desperate to learn more about the Dheana-dhe so when I heard that a duet was coming out based around them and Cyn (13) I was super excited! I've been curious about the Deana-Dhe since Academy of Stardom, that I've been made up to finally have their story. I am loving these story's from this author i have been waiting patiently to read about the Deana-Dhe after meeting them in The Masks books, it was so worth the wait as i devoured this first book and after that ending i need the next book like STAT!It is a slow burn but their chemistry is so electric and I knew from chapter 6 that I would cry from this book and the angst would be so good. I’m not a fan of any of the characters really and the heroine was a doormat surrounded by rich brats who held a ridiculous grudge.

Each of the guys are so different but yet the same as in none of them will admit how they feel about Cyn especially Carrick who treats her like she’s his biggest enemy, but you can see through the cracks in his armour and you know how he really feels for her .For every chapter or event in the present that they experienced, we got to see the history that sparked that turmoil for them. Cyn's secrets are finally out in the open, the Deana-Dhe have to go to war, and the fireworks are going to go off with some reunions. When they tied her up and let her be stripped naked and marked by her peers, that’s a bridge too far in my book.

The author won't do us dirty, she will give us tons of steam in book 2 I bet, just with how her other books have panned out and this one being more than 50% in flashbacks as kids it makes sense. it wasnt a book that i couldnt put down, I would read a couple of chapters and then was ok putting it down for a while. There was always a change between the present and the past and that was done by having a chapter in the present and then immediately having one in the past.A long time ago she made a deal which left her owing a debt… of course, the day came they come to collect that debt. also these characters are so incompatible i don’t understand what the author was trying to do to make them all a couple like she needs to take notes from the bonds series bc while it was slow it had a great plot that made up for it and the slowburn really added to the story. The story follows Cynthia ‘Cyn’ O’Farrell and The Deana-Dhe aka Arden Dálaigh, Carrick O’Shea and Lorcan Sheehan all of whom made appearance in Bea’s other series Their Obsessionduet. But if I’m the apple they never wanted to take a bite out of, then they’re the snakes willing to use me for their own gain.

We would get a scene from the past and then have it referenced in the present or vice versa and overall I loved the flow of the story in general. Even though I've been a bit disappointed in Bea Paige's recent books like Heads You Lose, THIS book shows that she's still got it.there’s also this trio main girl is friends w that the main guys think are dead bc they killed them or something like that but they aren’t and she’s protecting them by being compliant w this debt and it’s important bc the ending had the seer guy have a vision w her laughing w them in the future and they’re like omg she lied to us they’re not dead and they come home to confront her for her to be kidnapped by the people they were just talking to and they read her journal and figured out the truth and the trio aren’t bad people. I was always intrigued by Arden, Lorcan, and Carrick when we met them in 2 other stories in this interconnected world. Carrick was always looking for reasons to be angry with Cyn, and Arden was the only one whose reason for disliking Cyn I could still somewhat understand. Each of them has their own motives and game, all of which intersect with their attraction, longing, and complications with one another- what a tangled web they weave. They want me to make diamonds, a drug that has the ability to heighten the senses and manipulate emotions.
