About this deal

Am i wasting my time now, should i start from scratch again or can i use the old polysterene again if i clean it up? This can be done by carefully matching up the wallpaper pattern in the appropriate place and pressing firmly. It's the same as Warmaline, I would start again following the manufacturers instructions fully, a ready mixed adhesive would be best, you can PVA the wall or use a thinned down coat of the ready mixed adhesive but leave to fully dry. If your wooden surface is already smooth enough then you can skip the sanding and the priming step and apply the wallpaper directly right away.

Tubs of ready-to-use adhesive mean that you don’t have to worry about mixing the paste to the correct consistency. If the instructions don't mention applying the adhesive to existing lining paper, then contact the manufacturers to confirm procedure. If painting over the wallpaper glue or removing it still does not work—or if you just prefer an alternative—try adding paneling or adding another layer of wallpaper. I'd personally keep both PVA and Solvite well away from this process - until you wish to cross-line as Astra says.

A bubble may also appear under wallpaper if a speck of dirt or some other foreign object became trapped under the paper during installation.

If you don’t do this, it is likely that the adhesive will just be soaked up by the porous new plaster, and the paper won’t stick. Applying wallpaper glue without soaking the paper first can also lead to the wallpaper not sticking securely to the wall. First, the wall should be primed and smoothed, then the adhesive should be applied using an appropriate roller or brush for the wallpaper type. When you are ready to apply the glue, you should use a paint brush or roller to spread an even layer onto the wall. Using one gallon of wallpaper adhesive should cover up to 150 square feet and will provide a secure and long-lasting hold.

Wallpaper glue is an important component in the wallpaper installation process and it is important to choose the right adhesive for the job. Additionally, the wallpaper may not be able to properly adhere to the wall if the glue is not distributed evenly.

Apply an oil-based primer to separate the water-soluble wallpaper paste from the water-rich latex paint. If bubbles appear when the glue is dry, it may be necessary to remove the wallpaper and reapply the glue. Our geometric wallpaper range features a wide variety of eye-catching, intricate, and colourful designs. You have to cross line over the polystyrene as all the gaps will open up if you fail to do this, they will be found in the hanging instructions included in the packaging.
