It wouldn't matter: only far better screenwriting could have saved this monstrosity of a film but regrettably, the necessary talent wasn't there. The book's motto "Nothing comes from nothing" is especially true to those who have their goods being whisked away from them against their will.Suspense from start to finish and enough surprises and twists to keep you on your toes (or edge of your seat, whichever is more fitting) . I'm tempted to give this movie a 6/10, just because of her, but she was the only good thing in it, really. The one shortcoming is that I there wasn't as much of a resolution as I wanted/expected in the end, but I think the book still accomplished it's purpose and the messages were conveyed well despite that.

MGM (who have owned Empire Pictures' back catalogue for the past 10 years) would be doing genre fans a service were they to re-release true originals like this, rather than garbage like Tim Kincaid's 'Breeders'.What really saved the movie, however, was Lorna Raver, who played the crazy gypsy woman in Drag Me To Hell. Everything starts off OK except that during her settling in to her new apartment she answers the phone where a older woman on the other line asks for a man that doesn't live there. is keeping the conversation light hearted and interesting, or focusing the speaker while increasing the likelihood that he will express a more coherent message, or saving time and sparing unnecessary stress for both parties are those a communication tool used to bring the speaker back to the subject at hand if they stray?
