About this deal

We have designed the RapidCool™ so that you have the flexibility of feed sizes between 90ml-240ml (3oz-8oz) as your baby grows. Quickly, accurately and reliably measure your little one’s temperature with this handy Digital Thermometer for oral, rectal or under arm readings. Display: You need to be able to read and interpret the results of the temperature reading quickly and accurately. The RapidCool™ lid must glow Nuby red when attached to the flask to indicate the water is at the correct temperature.

As the name suggests, the RapidCool relies on starting with boiling water and cooling it, not starting with cool or room-temperature water and heating it, which means that it is only useful for powdered formula made with hot water - it won’t warm pumped breastmilk or premade formula. You can then leave the thermometer in the water for the duration of your baby’s bath so you can maintain the optimum temperature throughout bath time. It comes with a range of features to make sure you take the temperature correctly, its traffic light system means it is easy to interpret the results, plus it can be calibrated according to the age of your child. The insulated flask works with the digital lid to show you with a red ‘Nuby’ that the water is still hot enough to kill any bacteria in your little one’s formula. It gives a super-fast, accurate reading (about 10 seconds) so you can rest assured that your baby is comfortable in the bath and in bed.

Nuby claim the battery should last up to 200 hours (the auto shut-off function helps preserve battery life too), but some users did find the power drained quicker than that. It has a temperature sensor on its belly and will let you know if the water is too hot or cold by flashing and displaying the words ‘hot’ or ‘cold’. Any hotter and you risk scalding your baby, and any colder they will get cold and shivery very quickly. A lot of people prefer a thermometer that has an alert to tell you whether the water is too hot or too cold, while at the same time giving a quick and accurate reading. Backlit screens are handy for taking a temperature reading in the dark, without having to turn the light on and risk waking baby up.When the pressure is on, it’s difficult to remember the NHS guidelines for preparing a formula feed, but not to worry - we've got you covered. No problem, just fill the insulated flask with freshly boiled water and you’re ready to make a feed safely without having to rush to a cafe or head home. The soft light also works as a night light, giving your baby’s room a gentle glow and providing just enough light for you to pop in and check on your baby when needed. The recommended temperature for your baby’s bath water is 37 – 38 degrees Centigrade (or 100 degrees Fahrenheit). You may have seen parents dropping a little milk from the bottle onto their inner wrist - this is the easy way of checking that the temperature of the milk is right for your baby.

As with other bath safety products, such as spout covers and non-slip bath mats, it’s ultimately up to the parent to determine the precautions they feel are necessary. We did initially have some issues with the lid displaying green when the formula actually measured too hot, but once we got the hang of shaking and letting the formula settle, the digital thermometer was much more accurate.Remember that you should never submerge your hand into hot water, as you run the risk of scalding if the water is too hot. Bathing your little one is one of those activities that you do so many times, you probably don’t put too much thought into it (unless your baby hates it in which case you probably think about it a lot! This could save you some counter space (and cash), instead of having a separate steriliser and bottle warmer. If you can’t afford to splurge, this would do the job admirably for a fraction of the cost of most digital ear thermometers.
