About this deal

HiFiMAN does not specify the version of the Bluetooth standard used, so I’ll take a guess and say it’s probably 4. From the Arya to the HE1000se there is actually a bit of a step back in width, making it a little less thin sounding and resulting in a better body to the low end. While marketing claims and reality often diverge, my month-long testing of the Ananda Nano has left my ears thoroughly pleased. Having used the Edition XS daily for a year, I’ve had ample opportunity to experience a variety of equipment alongside it. And these are a double-sided magnet design, which -'in theory' are supposed to provide lower distortion.

The times that Hifiman has been a “boutique” company are long gone, and as for the mass production product, I think that the unboxing experience and the accessories included are pretty solid.Contrary to most Bluetooth headphones, the Ananda BT have no passive isolation whatsoever, as they are open back. while the good soundstage, with perfectly balanced detail vs crispness highs, allow you to enjoy also classical music, rock, or tracks with not too well-done masters. The headphones are entirely painted black with some accents painted silver, such as the grilles on the earcups. The HD 6XX are not known for their wide soundstage, on the contrary being known as having a relatively small one, but they are comparable in width with the Ananda. The more expensive Arya has it, but in the previous generation, even the least expensive headphones like the HE400S had swivel-action headbands.

From the perspective of technical ability, the Ananda BT are able to place you in a relatively wide soundstage, where they place instruments with good accuracy while offering quite good instrument separation. HiFiMan offer a wide range of planar dynamic headphones alongside headphone amplifiers and portable players. Without thinking about it too much, I can easily say that my preferred headphones out of these three are the Hifiman HE1000se. All three of these headphones use HIFIMAN's stealth magnets technology that was introduced with the flagship Susvara and then the premium-class HE1000se we saw recently. What you can find in the general bass area is a great amount of detail and good layering, together with impressive speed that collectively make instruments really come to life. Mounting the headphone on the text fixture was easy requiring almost no manipulation to get proper measurements.
