About this deal

I had a 52-inch piece of wood left over from another project, and it was the perfect size for a console-type table in a skinny little pass-through area we have in our apartment. We also make sure that all of the Timber supply chain that we work with are licensed and operating legally, so that we are all upholding the very high standards that we pride ourselves on here at Off The Grain. We take great pride in sourcing all of our wood from FSC certified suppliers, who are committed to responsible forest management practices. Our narrow, rustic, wooden console table with hairpin legs is available in 2 wax colour finishes and with a choice of 5 leg colours and 2 leg heights.

The wax not only adds to the resilience of the shelves, it also makes for easy cleaning as they are wa]ter-resistant. I have some reclaimed boards that would make a great table, but I am not sure of what height I should have it at. These rustic, chunky, wooden, narrow console tables are perfect for narrower hallways and landings with a depth of between 14cm and 20cm and will add a rustic, modern country charm to your home. Finished with a quality natural wax giving the narrow console table an aged finish whilst also protecting the wood and two steel hairpin legs. All sizes and measurements are customisable, please contact us with your bespoke measurements for a personal quote. I have done a few projects with hairpin legs, and I’ve sources the hairpin legs from a few different places. If you didn't want to screw into the wall 'No Damage Command Strips' (not provided) also work really well.

This is the most expensive option, especially since they are solid (instead of hollow) steel and needs to be powder-coated (aka painted). That means that every piece of wood at Off the Grain is sourced from sustainably managed forests in areas where four trees are planted for everyone used. In your lounge, in your hallway, placed over a radiator or even in your bathroom; this stunning reclaimed timber console table is perfect for any room in your home. I bought my hairpin legs already finished because I didn’t want to deal with cleaning and painting steel. I’m updating this post a few years later to say that this table made it to our new home, too—second pic below!

The unfinished raw steel leg option will start off with a shiny finish and then will naturally age and dull over a few weeks period. Since it’s a console table that doesn’t hold much weight, I didn’t have to worry about building support into the underside of the table; I just finished my table top and screwed the legs on! Please note that due to the rustic nature of the wood all shelves may have slight differences in appearance and colour. We take pride in every item that leaves our site, that is why our skilled woodworkers take devoted care when they hand-build each individual piece of our furniture. The wax not only adds to the resilience of the shelves, but it also makes for easy cleaning as they are water-resistant. We only use brand new kiln dried timber (no risk of woodworm) and then carefully sand, smooth and prepare the surfaces before using our own special techniques to make the wood appear old and rustic. Stainless Steel is made by adding Chromium to Molten Steel making it incredibly resistant to rust from water and salt water than galvanised Steel.
