After following Punpun from grade school to his early 20s, everything culminates in one of the most gut wrenching finales in any piece of media I have consumed. She gets a panic attack and while threatening to kill herself, suffers from pneumothorax, becoming hospitalized. It’s stuff like this, not even mentioning any other surreal imagery, that might make this seem too complicated or hard to understand if you skim it or look at it from an outsider perspective.
