Most binoculars come with twisted eyecups that allow you to use your optical instruments comfortably even when you are wearing glasses. But, since the range of motion of the mechanism was not changed, the distance "past infinity", or the accomodation to nearsightedness, was reduced. I could not find the actual meaning of the term but it may be attributed to the two doublets in the instrument : a cemented doublet in the eyepiece and a cemented doublet for the objective.

You can always extend the inter-barrel distance a bit more than usual and get a kind of "wide screen" view of the field (thanks to their very large exit pupil).But birding in Arizona especially convinced me that I needed more power; there were too many times when I wished I could see just a little more detail to positively ID a bird (and the wide open spaces in the desert allow for much more long distance birding than here in Michigan). Although a bit dimmer (about 6%) than Ultravid due to its silver rather than dielectric prism coatings, in low light the large exit pupil will supercede the few percent transmission difference.

My 8x42 Trinovids were my main binoculars for many years, but on some days they are actually too bright - watching hawk migrations on clear days would give me a headache. You might want to consider it too, especially if you plan to put it to its intended usage, low light.Given the test results of the Zeiss, its better Close Focus and FOV, it looks like an excellent choice for you.
