About this deal

As for video footage itself, the Nextbase 522GW does a pretty good job, and is one of the better dash cams we have used in recent years. Exposure is handled well to ensure good detail across both shadows and highlights, while the integrated polarising lens helps reduce windscreen glare on sunny days. The lens rotates so you can adjust how effective it is. Being the most sophisticated of the new Series 2 cameras, the 522GW comes with an interesting range of new features. We especially like the option to add various kinds of rear view modules, allowing you to turn the device into a dual or taxi cam, as needed. Curiously, the port for the car's 12-volt charger is on the mount and separate from the USB charge port. The 12-volt charger port is also buried in a cavity in the mount that makes the cord difficult to attach and detach, although once it’s in place you won't have to worry about moving it, unless you're moving the camera from one vehicle to another. In addition, a ferrite core (the bulbous part on many charge cords that make power transfer more efficient) near the mount adds to the visual bulk of the unit, although it can be removed. This requires connecting the 522GW to an Alexa account and to the MyNextbase Connect app for Android and iOS devices. The app also lets you control the camera's features, view stored images, record telemetry info such as g-force, and, when connected to the 522GW via Wi-Fi, view a live digital twin of what the dash cam sees. The NBDVRS2RWC is a little ball-shaped camera that you affix to your rear window with an adhesive. This camera cannot function on its own. It connects to the main camera with a 6m (19.6ft) long cable.
