About this deal

If you're a home brewer making wine, beer or cider and you are looking for an easy way to maintain the brewing temperature of your fermentation, a heat belt heater is an excellent choice.

Better Brew Heat Belt - Burnley Home Brew Better Brew Heat Belt - Burnley Home Brew

Cost-Effective: Heat belt heaters are relatively inexpensive compared to other temperature control methods, such as a temperature-controlled fermentation chamber. The TopBrewing™ heat belt is designed to be used during primary fermentation and to aid the start of secondary fermentation. Help keep your brew at a constant temperature and not get too cold. We've chosen to go belts over pads for the simplicity of adjusting the height of the belt on your fermenter to increase or decrease the heat transfer. With a pad, you're unable to do this, and may potentially cook your yeast turning your hard work into a giant bandaid. Suitable for use with 23 Litre & 33 Litre Fermenting vessels and 5 gallon kegs and smaller with a flat base litre suitable for fermenting vessels (TE25) - https://www.home-brew-online.com/electrim-heating-tray-25ltr-model-te25/ There are a few options and each has it's advantages and disadvantages, so here is a bit about each and when to use them; One of the main benefits of using the TopBrewing™ heat belt is the reduced time it takes to complete the brewing process of your beer and wine.

The most popular size is the TE25 which hold up to a 25 litre vessel, as it can also be used to stand smaller vessels on, such as 1 or 2 demijohns.Low Wattage/Economical 230 volts 25 wattsHeat pads are made to take the weight of the fermenter complete with wort in it, so around 25-30 kgs. If you do a double brew in a 60l fermenter you should think about using a heat belt. Also if you have a Stainless steel fermenter with a plastic base then a belt is best. We have found that in the winter, it just takes longer for us to get full fermentation. So, we started researching options for warming our fermenter.

The temperature is set at around 28 on both appliances. This is a good temperature for cold weather brewing because due to heat loss and ambient temperatures it will not heat the entire brew all the way through at 28. It will more likely be around 24 ish. When returning goods we recommend you use a signed for delivery service, and request that you obtain proof of postage. While we feel a little nervous about using this belt style around a glass carboy, this one did well on a standard 5-gallon glass carboy. It also is the only belt we found that had its own temperature controller, but sadly it didn’t work as well as we hoped.

Returned goods remain responsibility of customer until received by us. You must take reasonable care when returning goods to ensure they are not damaged in transit. The brew belt on the other hand has one side always exposed to the air and only heats at the level of which it is placed on the fermenter. The brew does circulate however due to the activity of the yeast. A con of the brew belt is that the plastic sleeve which the element sits in can become brittle after time, the heat pads seem to be sturdier for use winter after winter.

Brew Belt / Heat Belt - Love Brewing

One of the most critical factors to successful homebrew is fermentation temperature. Yeast likes to sit between a particular temperature range to work effectively. The TopBrewing™ heat belt is safe for use in the UK and is double insulated, it is supplied with a UK plug and has a CE mark and meets all UK regulations We highly recommend using our belt with our MKII - Temperature Controller for precise temperature control. If you're fermenting in a fridge, you can also use the MKII's cooling function as well to control both the belt and the fridge. Easy to Use: The heat belt heater is simple to use and requires no complicated setup or installation. Limitations - The Brew Belt is continually on, it has no thermostat or control and requires manually positioning at the right height to get the temperature of the brew where you want it.
