a b "BTS book 'Beyond the Story,' source of Internet speculation, to be published July 9". Associated Press. May 12, 2023 . Retrieved May 13, 2023. After about three months there... I finally realised why they had to come live the way they did. On days when we had a lot of rehearsals, we’d be working fourteen hours out of a twenty-four hour day.” As their collective popularity soars across the globe, RM wonders about fandom, album tours, tight schedules, and watches the frustration of the English band Queen as portrayed in the film, Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). The comparison with Queen and The Beatles, made this reviewer aware that nowhere is there any mention of BTS member’s romantic or sexual lives. All these young men seem to do is live for work, their label and their fans, with a few memories of family thrown in. It seems like all other aspects of life were discarded in 2010 when they entered the dorms of Big Hit Entertainment. The K-pop juggernaut known as BTS has dominated the American music scene in an unprecedented way. The group’s seven members — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — have performed at the Grammys and the American Music Awards, and most of their music videos have over 1 billion views on YouTube.

THE FIRST EVER OFFICIAL BOOK - Published in celebration of BTS 10th Anniversary, stories that go beyond what you already know about BTS, including unreleased photos, QR codes of videos, and all album information. Actually, I don’t think we were people who lived life thinking about so many things. In fact, if we had thought a lot, it would have been harder, and because we were just seven really simple people, maybe that was what made it possible.” As the world is gripped by the Barbenheimmer fever, guess what BTS ARMYs, the fandom of the K-Pop boy band, BTS (Beyond the Scene/Bangtan Sonyeondan) are doing. They are curled up with an excellent book that is a historical account, a pop culture treatise, a translation, and, most importantly, an anecdotal history of BTS titled Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS. Until June 2023, if you came across a BTS song, liked it and wondered, hmm, I wonder what their names are, you were sure to fall down an internet rabbit hole of what can only be described as venturing into wonderland. It was the first time I felt that “so many people are listening to our songs” and it was thrilling. I also thought, “This is what we made music for.””Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS is a must-have for any fan of the group. It provides a comprehensive account of BTS’s incredible journey over the past decade. The personal interviews conducted without the usual trappings of celebrity life offer a refreshing and intimate glimpse into the lives of these global superstars. The book is beautifully designed, with high-quality photos that capture the essence of each member as individuals and artists. I really appreciated how the focus was put on music and how the author retraced every step they took in the industry by constantly mentioning albums, songs, concepts and eras, while also including their personal struggles, aspirations and dreams in the process. Moreover, the idea of providing links to basically everything they were discussing was so useful and really made the whole book interactive and much more cohesive. I highly suggest you open these links to fully appreciate Bangtan's career and also how much work was put into this book in general. I wonder when these men even had the time to work on this though, cause we've been drowning in new music and other content for a while like... but then again it's BTS and they never seem to stop working. Or maybe they've been at it for years and we only learned about it now, with the tannies you never know. 💜 For Jin and RM, these discussions were important while V/Kim Taehyung found ways to continue the gruelling training through some stolen moments of happiness, for instance, sharing a favourite food with RM despite being on a strict diet or bonding with Jin over their favourite anime. Outside the training, what made BTS stand out was its digital marketing strategy. Now, however, no matter what the world might say, BTS are BTS. They no longer need any other word to describe themselves.”

Apart from those who loved and supported us, everyone else felt like an enemy. We were really worried about how much criticism we’d get if we put even a foot out of line.” We worked together so much and talked with each other so much that little by little, we really did feel we were becoming a team.” I would say that the majority of the events that are discussed in this book are things that fans who have been following their career for a while already know about. Of course we didn’t know their inner thoughts on everything, but there aren’t too many revelations present here. I was hoping for a bit more in terms of learning completely new things about what was going on away from the public eye. Also, at times bits of the story felt kinda sanitized or glossed over. Dreams actually come true, that's crazy. I still can't believe it, an actual book written by bangtan themselves along with that Weverse Magazine journalist ahhh we're always eating good in this borahouse god bless! SUGA recalled that their American television debut, in 2017, had been on the same stage for the same awards show (at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles). When the group won artist of the year, he couldn’t help thinking someone had made a mistake — or the world was playing a prank on him.For a BTS fan, it is tough to choose one single favourite album or era and a similar sentiment follows a reader through the journey of this book. It is tough to choose a favourite chapter or section. But the most relatable era that everyone will connect to is the Pandemic-era album, BE. Throughout the pandemic, as anxiety about the future gripped everyone, BTS didn’t remain unaffected by it either. Feeling disconnected from their fans, they too had moments of self-doubt and wondered if the path to success that had emerged since their debut would all but disappear. Songs such as Life Goes On, Telepathy, and Fly to My Room gave voice to our pandemic anxiety. I am so thankful to the members for getting our acts together, and I want to say how thankful I am to ARMY for always loving us.” BTS had conflicting emotions when it came to awards shows. They struggled with industry peers in their early days, and felt they weren’t welcomed or respected as artists. But in 2021 they wound up on American soil just as a lull in the pandemic opened a window for a public appearance at the American Music Awards. They also happened to be up up for several major awards, including the most coveted: artist of the year. The K-pop idol group, BTS, which started out as a dream for each of its members from different cities and towns in South Korea turned into a quest to prove themselves when faced with hostility and pressure. Today, BTS no longer needs to prove anything to anyone. As the members embark on their solo careers and personal journeys during the military enlistment periods, the only thing they are focusing on is expressing themselves fully, using all the love and lessons they carry with them as BTS. This book, a history of BTS in their own words, is an ode to Act One of the group. Like their last produced song, Take Two, fans have this book as a keepsake to remember the biggest, smallest, and happiest moments (and also the not-so-happy ones) that they’ve spent listening to BTS. Beyond the book, for BTS and the ARMYs, here’s hoping for an Act Two and that the best is yet to come.

a b c Cain, Sian (May 12, 2023). "Sorry, Swifties: BTS revealed as authors of mystery book that intrigued the internet". The Guardian . Retrieved May 12, 2023. Bloch, Emily (May 10, 2023). "Rumors of a Taylor Swift memoir put a mystery book on top of pre-sale charts. But new reports say the book isn't hers". The Philadelphia Inquirer . Retrieved May 13, 2023. I think it's no surprise to anyone that I finished this in one sitting, not even leaving my room to eat or drink water. I've actually seen BTS live 2 times before and they were both the best days of my entire life. My first time seeing them was in Berlin for their Love Yourself tour in 2018 (which was also my very first kpop concert) and the second time was in Paris for their Speak Yourself tour in 2019. I still remember the chills I got when I saw them on stage and when my fellow ARMY were cheering for them. BTS’s relationship with ARMY, formed thanks to the internet, became their unintended path to salvation.”I was so scared. It was Christmas Eve and the streets were full of cheerful people, but I couldn’t get my bearings at all.” PDF / EPUB File Name: Beyond_The_Story_-_BTS_Myeongseok_Kang_Anton_Hur.pdf, Beyond_The_Story_-_BTS_Myeongseok_Kang_Anton_Hur.epub It was a super pleasant read (gulped it down in 2 days), but it was akin to the In the Soop or Bon Voyage interviews when I guess what I was looking for was a bit more of the spontaneous V Live candidness or even the raw storytelling that comes out on Suchwita.

I love and adore and appreciate and respect all 7 of you so much. These past 10 years have been the best years of my life. Thank you for helping me linger on and endure all these challenging times. Thank you for bringing light to my dark days. Thank you for being my source of happiness and strength. Thank you for everything. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Not that we were doing it for the money necessarily, but I wonder if we should’ve at least been paid enough to buy a meal, and a lot of times we weren’t paid even that.”

The ten-year anniversary memoir is at once an encyclopaedia for the uninitiated and an emotional roller coaster ride for longtime fans.

I had such a great time reading this! It was wonderful to hear the members’ perspectives on the different ups and downs they’ve had as a group. There’s also a big emphasis on explaining their thought process behind different songs and their lyrics, which I really appreciated. The book isn’t all celebratory, it definitely does touch on moments of other people in the industry being disrespectful towards them, targeted hate campaigns, and also moments where BTS made mistakes, but that doesn’t overwhelm the story. They also go in depth with explaining how overwhelming their international success became and why they almost decided to disband at the beginning of 2018. There was a strong sense of being rewarded. That we’d done something together as a group⸺I was overwhelmed by that feeling, I think.” We really had almost no days off. So, at the time, I wondered whether it was right for a person to live life as exhausted as this.” The book, which unwraps around interviews with the stars, is published in 23 different languages including Korean, English and Japanese. When we get lots of awards like that... it got ridiculous. Because we’d said only the things we thought we could never achieve, and then we achieved all of them. I think it’s strange.”
