After weeks of trial, we've begun a phased rollout of the enhanced electronic programme guide (EPG). The first boxes to be updated will be the latest Sky+HD boxes (890 model) and the Sky+HD 1TB (895 model). The rest of the boxes (780, Samsung & Pace) will be updated later in the year. You'll be able to stream recordings from your hard disc, and control the Sky Guide Planner. For now, it's a satisfyingly high-performance HD satellite receiver, at least on a par with Sky's top-of-the-line 1TB PVR when it comes to channel changes and browsing the Sky Guide, if not faster. Damage to the cables. Call an engineer if the cables are dislodged from the metal housing or the nozzle is bent or broken. Oct 1990: Not via a receiver, but via the communal aerial system on the housing estate I lived at, I started to receive BSB Galaxy & the BSB Sports Channel for free! Was quite pleased that I had opted for Sky over BSB, as I now had Sky and part of the BSB service....although about 1 month later Sky & BSB merged & the channels were eventually dropped from the communal aerial system

PC1640 (Intel 8086, 8MHz, 640 KB RAM, MDA/ Hercules/CGA/ EGA colour graphics) - Marketed in the United States as the PC6400 In my experience the most common problem is bad weather or a faulty connection due to age. If you do find a cause that is not diagnosable from the above list then do let me know. Amstrad (also known as AMSTrad) was founded in 1968 by Alan Sugar at the age of 21, the name of the original company being AMS Trading (Amstrad) Limited, derived from its founder's initials (Alan Michael Sugar). Amstrad entered the market in the field of consumer electronics. During the 1970s they were at the forefront of low-priced hi-fi, TV and car stereo cassette technologies. Lower prices were achieved by injection moulding plastic hi-fi turntable covers, undercutting competitors who used the vacuum forming process. In addition to BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and Demand 5, there's content from Sky One, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Sky Arts and Sky Sports. And 4od is promised for 2013. Usability

This would be a box and subscription upgrade, loaning you the Sky Q equipment which would replace your existing box and hub. There are different options with Sky Q, such as Sky Q Multiscreen and a choice of 1TB or 2TB, so it's down to your preferences. You can find out more about Sky Q to see prices, equipment and service benefits. The Sky+HD box has firmware that boots the box and loads the operating system. The EPG, planner and recordings are stored on the hard drive. When the hard drive contains corrupted data the Sky box has no built-in recovery software to resolve the corruption like Microsoft Windows or Linux does so it just says that the box is in "diskless mode". The "corruption" that made your box enter diskless mode is not necessarily a hardware corruption but could be a software corruption that occurred during the automated system software update. Some of us have figured out that forcing a software update can sometimes resolve the corruption but in most cases it requires a system reset. A system reset completely wipes your hard drive and reinstalls the system software and allows the hard drive itself to mark any areas as bad. Of course you lose your planner and recordings in the process. You could take resolution a step further by removing your hard drive from the Sky box, inserting it into a caddy and connecting it to a computer running hard drive diagnostics and repair software. Or, you could extend your box's life by inserting a new hard drive and performing a system reset to format it and use it as your new storage device. The Sky software supports up to 2TB hard drives. The most fundamental change from earlier Sky propositions is the revamped and engorged on-demand offerings.

Sugar commented that he wished to play a part in the business, saying: "I turn 60 this year and I have had 40 years of hustling in the business, but now I have to start thinking about my team of loyal staff, many of whom have been with me for many years." The new Sky+ HD 2TB PVR comes with Wi-Fi built in, and while Sky has taken its sweet time about getting round to including this feature we're thankful it's finally here.
