Playing Hard to Get (The Players) eBook : Murphy, Monica

Second, they’re just so dang loud. They enter a building, a room, the quad, the football field (well, that’s a given), and everyone notices them. Not only because of who they are, but they deliberately make a scene, like they want the attention. They talk, they yell, they cause a commotion everywhere they go and everyone looks upon them with awe. The story yes medium paced, by the middle of the book they are already together and there is a lot of smut. Because they get together really early, by 80% it was a bit boring, and that's when a bit of old past problems come forward, but besides it being a cute scene if lost a bit of the appeal when I was tiredly waiting for it. I barely look up as the customer asks the question that’s on everyone’s tongue this Monday. I work at the campus bookstore, and while I love my job, I don’t love these types of questions.Ultimately, she had to break off the relationship even though she was very heartbroken. Fable and Drew are trying to move on following a bittersweet end to what had been a beautiful relationship. Yes, Knox was a big player in the past (on and off the field) but you could really feel that he was changing and ready for a relationship. He was very patience with Joanna and completely honest with her. He really tried his best to be a good boyfriend. He was a good guy with a kind heart. Joanna was wonderful too, she just got out of a relationship that wasn’t so good for her so she wasn’t looking for a new relationship but she couldn’t resist Knox. From the beginning Joanna trusted Knox and I loved that. And Knox treated her very well, he complimented her a lot which helped build her self-confidence. The banter between them was entertaining and the English lessons in the library were interesting (and steamy at times!). Knox and Jo Jo were a cute couple. I’m so happy that they found each other. It should come as no surprise that I loved this sports romance book. It was just absolutely adorable, yet still managed to be HOT.

He has friendly brown eyes, which are currently zeroed in on my face. His lips are curled into a pleasant smile and he’s wearing a Nirvana T-shirt, which is trendy yet also somehow ironic? Maybe? “Can’t believe that catch Maguire made in the third quarter,” he says.

She loves writing new adult novels as they make it possible for her to remember the times when she was young; when she was nineteen years old, attending college, hanging out with friends working and even dating. She made her debut with the publishing of “Crave” the debut novel of the “Billionaire Bachelors” series of novels. Over the years, she has published more than fifty works of fiction that have sold more than a million copies and been translated into more than twelve languages across the globe. I also enjoyed the group of friends Knox and Joanna had. I can’t wait to see what else comes out of this world! While she had always written in other romance genres, she knew she had found her groove in new adult. These are now some of her favorite novels to write.

Colin is feeling guilty as he never kept some promises he made and also one that he is trying to atone for. He had once promised Danny his best friend that he would take care of Jen if anything happened to him. Things were fine between them as Jen is grateful even if she feels like she is a burden. Over several weeks she begins developing feelings for Colin and being around him is pure torture and she knows she has to do something about it. In recent years, Knox acted like the typical college football player, enjoying the attention of the many girls on campus and partying a lot but lately he’s not feeling it anymore. The stress of college, the pressure of playing great football and the emptiness of one-nightstands is getting to him. He decides to start his last year on college with a sole focus on studying and playing football. He even goes so far (after a conversation with his teammates) to make a vow of celibacy!!! But then he meets Joanna. Joanna just got out of a long-distance relationship with her high school sweetheart Bryan so she starts this college year as a single girl. From their first meeting there is a spark between them but their love story really starts when Knox needs an English tutor and Joanne is the one waiting for him in the library, from that moment it becomes very clear they’re meant to be and that Knox’s vow of celibacy will be broken at one point in the story. The only question remaining is when will ‘it’ happen. Murphy loves to describe herself as a mother of three and wife who makes her home on the foothills of Yosemite on fourteen acres of land with her husband, kids, dog, and too many cats. There are plenty of reasons why they freak me out. First up is their sheer size. These guys are huge. Massive. Most of them are freakishly tall and overwhelmingly bulky, and when you first see them, they’re intimidating.

Instead of keeping my distance, I pull him in closer. Until somehow, we're spending all of our time together and I find myself falling for Knox. Hard. For affection and intimacy, Fable is forced to turn to guys who give her the closeness she can never get at home. Scratch that, I was pretty much a goner the moment things got… ahem, STEAMY! WOO! If I were to describe the spice in this book, I would just use the exact words that Joanna said to Knox in what she wanted from him which were, “hot and filthy”. Joanna may have come off as quiet and reserved, but girl did she tell Knox EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTED! YOU GO JO JO! GET THAT BIG D ENERGY! Knox was equally surprised and turned on by Joanna because, again the man was obsessed with her! Just when I thought it was all hot and passionate, Knox and Joanna surprised me again and again, and quite honestly had me all hot and bothered!!!!! OMG!The chemistry between Knox and Joanna was so palpable and electric that while reading there was no question that those two were falling in love. Not to mention, I couldn’t get enough of Knox and Joanna being together. The stamina those two had, as well as the way they explored each other’s bodies was downright sexy, and again I was left breathless! In conclusion, I loved the spice in this book, and the way Monica Murphy wrote the spice in this book was executed with perfection and of course BIG D ENERGY YASSS! Fable is working as hard as a slave so that she can get money to feed and sustain herself and Owen her brother. However, she still misses Drew and forgets their love but she is hot the type of woman that would wait forever for a man. It was just so good. Also he voluntarily listened to one of her romance audiobooks - Where can I get myself one of those?!?!

Monica Murphy is a USA Today and New York Times bestselling author from California that is best known for her young adult, romantic suspense, new adult and general romance fiction works. I’m so happy that I decided to read ‘Playing hard to get’, it was just what I was looking for. A sweet, well written new adult story with no drama and wonderful characters. It was a very pleasant read and I’m looking forward to reading more stories in this new series. One Week Girlfriend” by Monica Murphy tells of Fable Maguire and Drew Callahan who come from very different worlds but do seem like they have a lot in common. One day she just had an idea that grabbed her by the throat and would not let go. She began writing it and just could not stop and this would ultimately result in “One Week Girlfriend.”

Playing hard to get’ might be a ‘sweet’ story with no drama but it had some steamy and hot sex scenes in it. The story’s told from both POV’s. Can’t let that get out, though. I’ll get my college admission revoked, despite the fact that I’ve been here two years already and am starting my junior year. I don’t understand the adulation, the way these guys are treated like gods on campus when all they do is throw a football on the field.
