About this deal

The Hisense A4G is a HD model, which we don’t see advertised as much in the age of 4K. The 32-inch screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768, while the 40-inch has a 1080p Full HD display. The E76GQ is the second mid-range TV from Hisense. The display features similar specs to the A7GQ and despite not supporting HDMI 2.1, it does support VRR, but seemingly only up to 60Hz. We’re looking to confirm this with Hisense. The best soundbars for small TVs can bring you big sound from a compact unit and make speech clearer

QLED technology provides excellent color accuracy and a wider range of brightness levels than OLED technology, resulting in a more immersive viewing experience Disappointingly, there are fewer HDMI ports – three instead of four, but ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) are covered across all of them so you could plug a game console into any port and benefit from those features – though they are HDMI 2.0 ports, not 2.1 specified. eARC is supported on HDMI 2 for pass-through of lossless audio. The top-left app on the home screen is Netflix, and it’s rather odd that it’s the only app whose position you can’t change. During setup, we were even presented with a prompt to watch Netflix, making it abundantly clear that the dominant TV streaming service had paid a premium to maintain pride of place on 2020 Hisense TVs. With 20W of audio power from the speakers, the sound from the Hisense A7G is really loud, I only kept it on about 25% volume for the majority of the time I spent with it. Watching the BBC news in Full HD, the close-ups of the in-studio correspondents are good, there’s reasonable upscaled skin detail and colour balance and vibrancy throughout the picture remains strong. To connect your universal remote control, you need the model number and brand name of both the remote control and the television. There is a list of codes for brands and model numbers in the manual of the remote control . The TV runs on the VIDAA U5 operating system, designed to be user-friendly and intuitive. It has a customizable interface that allows users to personalize their TV experience. Additionally, the TV comes with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, enabling seamless online content streaming. Features Quantum Dot TV 4K Over one billion shades of colors can be reproduced on your display with quantum dot technology with Hisense A7G QLED 4K Smart TV. Dolby Atmos enabled QLED TV brings breakthrough immersive audio experience to your home whether it is shows, games or live sports. The interface is separated into several sections, but apps is where the action is. The app selection is focused rather than bountiful; Netflix has pride of place on the top row and all the UK catch-up apps are covered (as Freeview Play), with Disney+ and Britbox available also. There’s VIDAA Free, which rounds up a selection of free content from the likes of Plex, Vevo, YouTube and Facebook Watch for more options. Rounding-up on the performance side of things is the gaming capabilities of the U7QF which are decent, with input lag coming in at 17ms in both SDR and HDR modes as measured by the Murideo Seven Generator. HDR gaming was also good, however, there are no HDMI 2.1 features available on the Hisense like VRR or ALLM.

Compared to the U7QF, the A7G is a downgrade in features. Where the U7Q had Full Array local dimming the A7G makes do without. It’s not a full house for HDR formats either, with the Hisense able to decode HDR10+ but not officially certified for it. It’s been certified to UHD Premium and IMAX Enhanced standards for meeting a premium 4K experience with the former, and improved performance with compatible content for the latter. Peak brightness is rated at about 1000 nits, so this should be able to display HDR10 content without issue. HDR support intends to bring better depth, detail and contrast where possible, while Dolby Atmos audio delivers cinematic audio from the speakers embedded into the TV console, with sound coming from all directions. The TV also features the same X-Fusion technology found in the 100L9G-DLT100 for over 25000 hours of entertainment.

The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED Series TV is compatible with various devices, making it easy to stream content from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The TV also has two USB ports, allowing you to connect USB drives or external hard drives to play your favorite movies and TV shows. The remote is a similar effort to previous and a slight improvement as it doesn’t attempt to cram as many buttons into a small space.
