Cheers, and I fully agree with your point. I went from TN to IPS, which was a big change and I also had concerns about VA, more so for the viewing angles. We sat about 3 feet away and had no trouble discerning the finest details in photos or in moving images. The bonus color is nice to have for all conten, even though it isn’t strictly accurate. While it’s adept at handling colours in the sRGB gamut, it’s no good with Adobe RGB. As with gaming, the Dell is ideal for mainstream situations, but it doesn’t have the versatility for anything beyond that, so content creators should look elswhere. The difference in setup was jarring, there is simply no comparison between plugging in a single DP cable, one USB cable for the hub and a power cord to the set up of three monitors. What would be a bit of time to get the displays connected, swap the cords that don’t want to reach, convincing the graphics driver where the monitors were physically and then fiddling with the mount until the displays were lined up took only seconds.The Dell S3220DGF is the brand’s mid-level model released in 2020. Thanks to its low input lag and high refresh rate, it promises to deliver a fast gaming experience compared to other mid-level models. I am coming from a 27" QHD monitor and I think the text may be a little less sharp but it is more than acceptable.
Yeah I get that. Same goes for just about all higher hz monitors. It’s just when people say, “super fast is better”. Why is it better? You have to be noticing something for that response to be, “better”. Seems I’ll just have to be patient and see for myself. Thanks though. There's no need for calibration when the S3220DGF is in its default Standard mode. You’ll have to use the DCI-P3 color gamut for all content since there is no sRGB mode. Of course, if you do like displays with wild design and plenty of lighting, the Dell doesn’t fit the bill. Alienware will be more your style. and va... is not from the past? no new fast-ips?The DPI of 1440p at 32" is the same as a 1080p at 24" so that isn't bad. Also VA is the panel type used on the majority of LED TVs. While IPS is nice, I prefer VA for the added contrast. Beneath this, you’ll find a VA panel with 10-bit colour and a 4ms response time.
