It’s not normal for me to have problems with the ergonomics of IEMS, almost all of them fit me well and I have very few problems with them. Using the larger tips in my collection I have achieved a more durable fit, but the best sound is very position dependent, the slightest misadjustment and the seal disappears and the perception of the music changes, especially from the low end. So ergonomics is critical. The only issue is that the 2-pin connectors are a specific design that is not compatible with the usual standard, so finding some aftermarket cables would be an issue. The second half is slightly compensated for and the gain of the bell emancipates the female voices and brings a degree of clarity and cleanliness, but pushes the first half even further away. There is a steep rise and this contrast disturbs a quiet, calm listen, as balance and equilibrium are lost. On the one hand there is a bass stage that can become massive and then a high mid-high and early treble enhancement. The sensation of hollowness can become apparent.
There’s not a lot to say about the shells of the BLON BL-03, as the exterior design is very simplistic. The metal shells have a teardrop shape and a polished chrome-coloured surface. On the inner side of the shell, there’s a small vent near the base of the nozzle. Imaging and timbre on the BL-03 is superb. These 2 are where this set really performs and on these 2 grounds alone, I can safely recommend this set to anyone. It may not be everyone’s favourite set of earphones but I’m sure no one can deny that it is a brilliant performer at its price range.
Mids are surpisingly clear and natural. I don't recognize any harsh experiences with the higher mids, vocals are lush and forward.
Do you remember your first time? There’s a first time for everything. And the first time you heard a life-changing piece of music on an outstanding system – it probably established a lifelong memory. Wireless Earbuds are no doubt convenient. But they usually sound pretty ordinary. These IEMs, although wired, are designed and built with the goal of just delivering brilliant sound. I’ll take this opportunity to clown on BLON’s name, which stands for: “ Belief, Letmusicburn, Oppoty, Nevergiveup”. True, the BLONs are tonally more satisfying, even more musical, but there is more sparkle and life in the Live 1s, and not just because of their name. The tuning of the TFZs is more polarised and that has an impact on the stage, somewhat less so. A larger oval is perceived in the representation of the BL-Max, improving its image and gaining a more enveloping sensation. bump are there so expect stage and if not – change tips, everything else in FR is smooth. FR having no harsh spike/dip means no sawtooth mid/treble. Some may find the 1-2k bump to be unsettling and piercing, Harman fatigue or shouty sopranos in general, good for male vocals or soft voice.
Sound & Specs
Spinfit CP145 also fits, but this has a wider bore so bass is less pronounced with it on in general.
