About this deal

After cutting off the Outer Rim, clean-up the outer diameter of the lid by trimming any excess material so that the outer diameter of the lid is flush with the Upstanding Rib Wall.

Whale Tiptoe Standard Mark 4 Pump – GP1309 - Big White Box

For a more elaborate alternative, LifeSaver’s Jerrycan Shower Attachment attaches to most jerrycan-style water jugs. If you’re the fancy sort who needs a legit hot shower, even off-grid, Coleman’s 5-Gallon Camp Shower is a straightforward plastic bag that uses nothing more than the sun’s rays to deliver a nice hot shower. How many gallons for a camp shower? Portable electric camp showers: From bicycles to surfboards, everything has a battery now, so it’s no surprise that even portable showers are getting electrified, too. Per manufacturer: “The most efficient use of the accumulator occurs with the accumulator pressure set at the same pressure as the pump’s re-start setting.” (Hint: it’s 40 PSI for the Shurflo Revolution 4008 pump). We tested different pressures, and we prefer to set it to 30 PSI as the water volume capacity is greater at that pressure (therefore, the pump cycles less). Drill (4) 1/8 inch diameter holes through the Upstanding Rib Wall on the Trimmed Lid and the Basin Side Wall. Drill the holes at North, South, East, West)

It totally depends on your usage and how many days of autonomy (without having to fill) you want. As a rough guideline and to help you make your calculations, here is our usage living full-time in the van: Pump-powered portable camp showers: Out in the woods, hanging bags of water that weigh over 40 pounds can be tough. Just hoisting a bag shower into a tree can prove to be a workout. By contrast, pump-style camp showers pressurize the water in a standalone ground reservoir and then squeeze it out via a nozzle. Don’t expect a “Super Soaker” water gun level of pressure, but it’s often more than enough to clean off salt, mud, and whatever else you like rolling around in. I was wondering how you installed your grey water draining pipe through the floor, did you simply drill a hole down through the vinyl, wood, insulation and metal, or did you plan it in advance? Wondering if I should plan my floor holes before installing the floor insulation. Reply This is ideal for an outdoor group washing-up before meals. Especially when cooking at camp, it would be nice for the cooks to easily clean-up while preparing food with a more traditional sink with running water to promote: Properly washing entailed a trip to the 5 gallon spigotted blue jug propped on the end of the picnic table.

Keep clean anytime, anywhere with the best portable showers

Remember, this extra precaution is because we use the van below freezing temperatures! If that’s not your case, there’s probably no point in doing this. If we were to start over, now that we know that we use much less water in winter, we would consider installing a tank inside the van AND a tank outside the van. The idea is to maximize water capacity without occupying too much space in the garage: The Basin also allows hands to be washed inside the basin's high side walls - keeping the falling spout water from splashing off your hands onto your pants. December 2017:We modified our grey water system so we can dump water directly through the floor (or in the grey water tank).I added this to our camp kitchen and this: http://canvascampers.com/index.php?topic=2418.0 with a few modifications. I am very happy with how it works. Circulate water through the entire water system for about a minute (by opening the sink and other devices). The dowels (glued into holes in the wood base) allow the bulb to move up and down freely when pumped. The open top of the dowels make for easy installation and removal of the bulb for storage. Pumping water, even with a foot pump, requires effort so you know water use will be kept to a bare minimum...letting gravity spill it on the ground is easy... and fast! The Camplux Pro Series 6L is a reasonably-priced solution for anyone who's always wanted an outdoor shower. This semi-portable unit requires a semi-permanent outdoor setup that includes a secure mount, a large propane tank, a garden hose water inlet line, and two D batteries. Though the initial installation takes time, once ready, this handy little unit instantly converts cold hose water into a range of warm to hot shower temperatures, available at easily adjustable pressures — all finely tuned with two simple knobs. It has a wide shower head that rivals the ones in our bathrooms, three modes that make it just as easy to clean the kids as the dog, and a simple on/off switch right by your hand.

Whale's manual galley pumps are truly design classics. Since the 1960s these manual pumps have been designed, refined and manufactured by our skilled UK based workforce.Portable camp shower attachments: These clever attachments turn ordinary water containers or jugs into legit portable camp showers. Any reason you switched from the braided vinyl tubing you were initially using (as seen in some photos) to the Shurflow Silencer kit? Did the braided vinyl tubing not reduce noise, or did it leak? Just wondering if I should go with the silencer kit or if any old tubing would do. Thanks! Reply Its easy (and fun) to use...so it gets used! (apparently its cool to squirt water with a foot pump) If we were to use the van exclusively in summer, we might consider installing our tank outside the van, underfloor. Installing the tank underfloor frees garage space AND improves the van handling because it lowers the center of gravity. Hangable portable camp showers: A bag of water hanging from a tree is the simplest way to shower. You’ll just need to choose what size and kind of nozzle you want.
