This is a straight-forward yellow cake recipe with an American buttercream from the SprinkleBakes book. I used cake flour instead of all-purpose and vanilla bean paste instead of extract. I made these today, I didn’t know if it would be worth it, but it totally is! They’re so much tastier and prettier than the ones at the store, especially if they’re in a mason jar. It’s the best last minute gift. I’m planning on trying to put peppermint in the white chocolate instead, just to see if it’ll taste good for Christmas. Note: If you find the buttercream is too stiff, you may add milk or heavy cream 1 tablespoon at a time until the mixture is spreading consistency.
