Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Ultra HD Blu-ray Review Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Ultra HD Blu-ray Review

First up, the script was clearly sorted first. You do see films like that occasionally where you get such a feeling. This has a solid story. Excellent character development and characterisation. It's central theme happens organically as it goes along and is never overstated. It works. It knows how to tell a story. Which, since he knows how fairytales and stories work, is great. identified at the single strand level, though some level of textural "clumping" is part of the inherent look, and charm, of the "storybook" animation style.Kitty Softpaws is a well-rounded character as well, and Perrito, a sweet-natured animal and the source of much of the comic relief, also earns his place in the story with a moment that’s so good that it’s difficult to talk about without spoiling. The key word here is “earns.” This film earns a lot of its dramatic and comedic moments without them feeling entirely put upon. Moments are set up and paid off, and a few genuine tears might even be shed, making it a far cry (no pun intended) from this franchise’s films of the past. With good performances and a painterly-style reminiscent of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, you have a film that is astonishingly well-realized. For an eleven years later sequel, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is quite effective. expectations for increasingly photorealistic and, frankly, characterless digital animation styles (cutting edge though they may be), but it takes little

FEATURE COMMENTARY - with Director Joel Crawford, Co-Director Januel Mercado, Producer Mark Swift, Editor James Ryan and Head of Story Heidi Jo Gilbert Great review, unfortunately i did not like this film.. I love the first one, but i didn't enjoy the new "painting" animation style, and especially the added motion judder annoyed me.. I get this is an artistic choice made by the producers, but i did not like it. I also found the story pretty boring, although the existential crisis Puss has and the manifestation of it is pretty cool, it still didn't do it for me.. In listening to the Dolby Atmos surround mix I found it to be of the active variety that makes steady use of the platform. Its use of audio objects placed above is a mix of atmospherics, music, and discrete sound effects. This is done very well and creates a tangible level of immersion that coincides with the onscreen events nicely. The mix effectively places effects/sounds within the soundstage adding an enriching element that heightens the intended feeling like something is passing overhead, traveling through the room, or emanating from a specific location. The voice cast are amazing. Antonio Banderas knows how to play this role, and he sings and emotes and makes you laugh and emotional. Ray Winstone was born to voice Papa Bear of the three bears. It's an amazing voice performance. As it is with the actor who does Perrito also. Did this movie even show in 3D???? I didn't see any mention of 3D screenings anywhere. Face it already.. IN THE BEGINNING - Go behind the scenes with the filmmakers of PUSS IN BOOTS: THE LAST WISH to discover how they brought this great tale to life. This release was definitely not my best, but as I’ve specified repeatedly, letterbox films are almost always worse conversions than full screen 16:9 conversions. A CAST OF CHARACTERS - You know their voices, now see the faces behind all the beloved PUSS IN BOOTS characters. There are ample times where near field objects, and multi-staged atmospherics places you inside the scene as sounds rotate and revolve around the sound field from both above and at ear level. While this is not what I would regard as an aggressive Atmos mix, it is an active one, that complimented the source material and made for an entertaining listening experience.

Hola amigos! It's the sequel you never expected! And possibly didn't ask for! But it didn't take quite as long as Senor Cameron did with his. I read few comment of some users whose who are asking for betterment of these conversions but @JFC is not ready to spend more time on correcting conversions...according to him he cant spend more time on a movie as he has so many line up to complete. For more about Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Blu-ray release, see Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Blu-ray Review published by Martin Liebman on February 28, 2023 where this Blu-ray release scored 4.5 out of 5.

Indeed, the visual style creates a living storybook with artwork that doesn't look like it was made in a computer, or at least fully in the computer,decade-long hiatus between films. The opening musical number 'who is your favourite fearless hero?' is incredibly good, a wonderful tune with catchy lyrics that will stay on your mind. The animation is stunning. Looking like story books at times. Going into interestingly different styles for action scenes, which really makes those work. was the last time a feature film of Puss in Boots was available, leaving a very wide gap in between with a TV series that lasted a few seasons, but little impact made with the character since. It’s certainly not unusual as Pixar also eventually caved and made sequels to some of their biggest and most-respected films, many of which are now considered classics in their own right. In the case of The Last Wish, it’s a nearly 180-degree turn from its predecessor. The original film was more of what you’d expect from DreamWorks Animation with lowbrow humor and characters that have just enough substance to get you through thinly-constructed stories to hang cute characters and modern references on. The Last Wish tosses nearly all of that out the window for something deeper and more meaningful. It’s a story that not only has some teeth, in the form of scary images and occasional blood, but very human, very adult concerns and thematics. The fear of getting old and facing death is universal, and none of the characters in the DreamWorks world have ever had to do that, not to this degree. Puss is terrified by Wolf, as he should be. He’s incredibly menacing and narrow-minded with a single purpose. He’s resolute, can’t be reasoned with, and waits in the shadows for Puss to fall into his clutches. In other words, he’s a Grim Reaper of sorts, and he’s portrayed as such.
