About this deal

Despite being a wired rather than wireless controller, the TC-80N3 still requires a single CR2032 battery to power its LCD display and all-round cleverness. Connecting to compatible cameras like the EOS 5D IV and 7D Mark II via a three pin plug, the unit’s features include a self-timer, long-exposure timer, interval timer and the option to set the number of shots in a sequence. It also works as a straightforward remote control, with the same basic functions as Canon's RS-80N3 camera remote, even with no battery fitted. It’s simple to use, with a switch that cycles between the four main operating modes, a start/stop button, LCD display illumination switch and jog control for altering the settings. How can I determine who's at fault here (camera, remote or the usual suspect - me) ? BTW, the remote won't emit any visible light when pressed (what I mean is the little light bulb won't lit - I'm not expecting to see the actual beam); is it supposed to show something? THE FIX.... I folded the aluminum foil I used for testing and placed it in the indention as shown in figure 5. While there are plenty of camera triggering apps out there, a good remote release is a much more reliable solution, one that isn't dependent on an unreliable smartphone battery. Different releases use different triggering methods: some are cabled physically to the camera, others are wireless infra-red, and others use more advanced wireless systems like radio frequency, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi – extra-useful as they don't require direct line of sight. Haven't tested it for very long time, maybe I just didn't get the right settings. Does anyone have had similar experience as mine?

At DCW, we test a huge variety of photo and video equipment, from cameras and lenses to essential accessories such as camera remotes. Our team of imaging experts takes products out into the field to test them in real-world shooting scenarios, and for camera remotes, looks at specs like camera compatibility, connection options, connection reliability and physical size/weight. We use our reviewers' findings to inform our comments in buying guides. Camera remotes: five things to consider I don't represent myself to be a remote (or battery) expert, but as far as I can tell, the difference between the CR2025 the ML-L3 comes with and the CR2032 I had won't make a difference here. Perhaps in a watch with very tight fit tolerances you might go awry, but in this rather loose fitting tray, it's fine. Remote control is cancelled automatically if no photograph is taken before the time selected for Custom Setting c5 ( Remote on duration (ML-L3), 0 Remote on Duration (ML-L3)), Off is selected for Remote control mode (ML-L3), a two-button reset is performed ( 0 Two-Button Reset: Restoring Default Settings), or shooting options are reset using Reset photo shooting menu ( 0 Reset Photo Shooting Menu). This tiny Nikon Infrared Remote Control lets you control the shutter release of specific Nikon DSLR models from a distance. It is ideal for creating self-portraits and for wildlife photography, and can help prevent camera shake during remote shutter release. Use with the Nikon D40/D40X, D60, D70/ D70s, D80, D90, D5000, D5200, D3000, D3200, D3300, D5300, D7100,D600 andD610digital SLR cameras, Nikon Coolpix P7100, P7700 and P7800digital cameras and the Nikon 1 J1, J2, V1, V2 and V3. The ML-L3 Remote Controller will fire the shutter from up to 5 metres in front of the camera. The ML-L3 Remote supports the “bulb” exposure camera setting making it a great accessory for shooting long exposures, great for seascapes and night time photography.Go to your smart device's wi-fi settings and select the camera's wi-fi network or SSID in the list of networks displayed. (With Android smartphones, once you initially make this network connection, your device will automatically connect when you enable the camera's wi-fi. With Apple devices, you'll have to perform this step each time you want to use the wireless feature of your Nikon camera with your smart device.) Should you think you have the need for a remote control, and you have a compatible camera, I would highly recommend the ML-L3 remote control. It works great and is simple to use.

To pair units, press the menu button to display the menus, then highlight pairing in the link mode menu and press OK. Wireless remotes are now very affordable and give greater range, buta wired remote will give an uninterruptible connection. This convenient remote is all about long exposure and time lapse shooting. You can shoot a sequence up to 100 hours long, split down to 1-second increments, and there’s a secondary timer that’ll repeat the first sequence, also with controllable frequency. Alternatively, the Captur can be used as a straightforward remote release, with the 2.4GHz wireless connection giving a range up to 100m, while Digital Channel Matching guards against unwanted signal interference. The product is mainly for doing time lapses but it pairs by bluetooth to the dongle which accesses your shutter. Connect the WR-R10 to your DSLR, either via the camera's accessory terminal, or with the WR-A10 adapter. Before taking a photograph with the flash in manual pop-up modes ( 0 Manual Pop-up Modes), press the M ( Y) button to raise the flash and wait for the flash-ready indicator ( M) to be displayed ( 0 The Built-in Flash). Shooting will be interrupted if the flash is raised while remote control mode is in effect. If the flash is required, the camera will only respond to the ML-L3 shutter-release button once the flash has charged. In auto pop-up modes ( 0 Auto Pop-up Modes), the flash will begin charging when remote control mode is selected; once the flash is charged, it will automatically pop up and fire when required.
