About this deal

Sting made his debut as a Broadway lyricist and composer in October 2014 with the launch of The Last Ship. He even joined the cast in that December in an effort to draw in more theater goers. Unfortunately, Sting's celebrity wasn't enough to boost sales, and The Last Ship closed in January 2015. In October 2017 it was announced that Sting has made plans to bring the musical to the U.K., set first to premiere in his childhood hometown of Newcastle, in March 2018. Personal Life In the music video, Sting protrays himself as some kind of God or deity, only for the viewer to see at the end of the music video that he’s just advertising “Brand New Day” laundry detergent. He’s no Billy Mays! Sting elaborated on the music video:

[9] Record World said that "Sharp tempo contrasts are bridged by Andy Summers' hard-edged lead guitar while singer-songwriter Sting pleads an affecting lead vocal." [10] The song has been covered by several artists, including the band Fools Garden in 1995, whose version became a hit in Europe. Gordon Sumner, better known as Sting, was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, on October 2, 1951. He is best known for his singing career, both with the 1980s band The Police and as a solo artist. Some seem to feel that they are a kind of god and reveal in their songs the way to fix the world. I made a parody of this and in the end it turns that what I’m selling is a detergent. 'The Last Ship' Broadway Musical Every Breath You Take” is, to this day, still perceived to be a love song. However, the lyrics are actually spoken from a character with sinister intent. During the time Sting wrote this song, he had just divorced his first wife, Frances Tomelty. While his intention may have been to write a sweet, emotional love song from the beginning, he was soon realizing that he was entering into a dark place that fought for control and surveillance. Being in the midst of the Cold War, at that time, did not help the situation.

Sting: I don’t think it’s a sad song. I think it’s a nasty little song, really rather evil. It’s about jealousy and surveillance and ownership. Sting had a discussion with NME about how it pleases him to see people misinterpret “Every Breath You Take” as a love song:Kitchener, Heather (17 February 2015). Sting began a career as a solo artist, scoring a hit album with his first post-Police effort, The Dream of the Blue Turtles, released in 1985. Sting went on to release a string of successful solo albums, including Nothing Like the Sun (1987), The Soul Cages (1991), Ten Summoner's Tales (1993) and Mercury Falling (1996). During this period, Sting wrote and recorded a diverse range of music, from haunting ballads to intriguing instrumental pieces to upbeat popular songs.
