About this deal

Make it gluten-free. Use gluten-free rolled oats and make sure that the protein powder you’re using is GF certified. Sala Syrup (710ml) is a sweet syrup made with soda that can be mixed with a variety of other sweet drinks like Thai Pink Milk and Strawberry Yogurt. It is best to keep it in a cool dry place while it is still fresh. To keep the opening refrigerated, use the container. Making Your Own Simple Syrup NOTE: This recipe took a bit of experimentation to get the proportions correct. (Our kids certainly didn't mind sampling each rendition!) We found that adding too much sala syrup resulted in a metallic aftertaste. However, this was easily fixed by adding more evaporated milk to the drink. Get ready to take your taste buds on a wild ride with this fiery Thai spirit. It’s like a tiger in a bottle, with a bite as sharp as its stripes. Lao Khao first appeared on the scene in the 1950s, around the same time as Mekhong. It has been making waves ever since. If you’re ever in the rural inland areas of Thailand and can’t find Lao Khao, just ask for Sura Khao, it’s the same thing! Sweetened condensed milk. Optional. If you have a sweet tooth, add up to 1 tablespoon but know that sala syrup is very sweet.

The drink. If you have leftover pink drinks from a big batch, put them in an ice cube tray for the next round of drinks. Add some milk and let the ice cubes thaw, and enjoy! Fresh Strawberries: To add some fruit to our strawberry protein overnight oats. They help balance out the sweetness with their slight tangy flavor and add more texture. Then, add more ice to fill the glass and add whole milk until full (you can optionally froth the milk)

Those flavors include Mali (Jasmine), Creme soda, pineapple, rose, grape, strawberry, cantaloupe, and sarsaparilla. They all have different colors matching the taste of the fruits used. I haven't had most of them, as Nom Yen is the most popular. Thai pink milk evokes happy memories of hubby's childhood. This sweet, refreshing drink is at the heart of many of his stories of growing up as a young boy in Thailand. So it's only natural that he would want to share this drink with our children. Jump to:The sals syrup is always going to taste like sala syrup, but what makes the difference is the milk. If you don't have or don't want to use evaporated milk, I recommend using whole milk (if you can drink it), so you still get the creaminess with just the milk and the syrup.
