About this deal

The reality is that you could use any mode on the brush to clean your tongue just ending the clean sooner. Although the speed and number of oscillations will be different. Below, is a list of models we have compared to one another, plus some that we have compared to their Sonicare equivalents. A bigger difference and potentially useful feature for first time electric toothbrush users is the inclusion of a pressure sensor on the 2000.

The Oral-B Pro 650 uses the 3D oscillation rotation method of cleaning which is much better than the 2D oscillating rotating featured on the cheaper oral-b vitality. In daily clean mode, the Oral-B Pro 650 will oscillate 8,800 times and pulsate 40,000 times per minute. This has been proven to clean teeth 20% more effectively than manual toothbrushes by Cochrane (An independent research agency). There is also some proof that 3D Oscillating rotating performs better than sonic motion featured on Oral-B’s main competitor Philips Sonicare. Cleaning mode You are likely going to get the best value from the Pro 1 680/Pro 1 750 variants, because they include a travel case. But, prices do vary, so this logic may not always apply. Both models offer most of the benefits of an electric toothbrush without having to pay ‘too’ much for them. There are fewer gloss plastics and large expanses of rubber grips, with a much more exclusive looking design. The more premium brushes offer additional cleaning modes which are suitable if you have more advanced oral healthcare needs or are looking for a particular programme such as whitening.Take a look at the lower third of the brush find the battery power icon, above which is a small amount of branding, which is barely noticeable, embossed into the rubber. A big improvement, it means you can go between charges for longer and works better for those who travel and are away from power. As you move up the Oral-B range, the brushes become more expensive, but they do come with additional features and accessories. We regard these as “nice-to-have” rather than essential. If you are always on the move with overnight stays or travelling from place to place the hard plastic case provides a home for the brush and the brush heads (up to 2) and stops either coming to harm.

Whilst technically any of the Oral-B brush heads can be fitted and used on any of the cleaning modes, some are better suited to particular cleaning modes. We discuss this and include diagrams in our Oral-B brush head comparison post. ThePro 600 offers 8,800 oscillations and 20,0000 pulsations whilst the 2000 offers 9,900oscillations and 45,000 pulsations.Box contents in either of these brushes is fairly limited in comparison to more premium brushes like the Pro 6000, but included is what you need. On the negative side, the Pro 650 does not have a pressure sensor to alert you in case of brushing your teeth too hard nor a travel case to help storing your brush when travelling.

It is important to try and protect the brush head a little from damage as these are what do the cleaning and damaged bristles can actually cause more damage than you think. A smaller, but relevant difference relating to the cleaning modes is that the motor in the Pro 2 2000 is a bit more powerful and actually offers more movements than the Pro 600. The new magnetic driven motor is quieter and the way it works produces a cleaning sensation that is similar, but different. When you power on the brush with a single press on the power button, you launch straight into the only cleaning option on the brush, the daily clean mode. This lasts for two minutes and at 30 second intervals, you will hear the sound from the brush change as the oscillation of the brush head changes ever so slightly to indicate to change quadrant. Putting this to shame is the 9000’s travel case which is heavier, bulkier but much more premium to look at and touch. It also has the ability to charge the brush in the case, by connecting the provided charging cable. If this is not enough, a USB cable can be connected to the case and charge a device like a smartphone. At the end of the 2 minute cycle, the head will again change its oscillation to give another tone to confirm the cycle has ended.

You too get a visible pressure sensor, but this now lights up not only red to alert you when you brush too hard, but green too, to show you are using just the right amount of pressure. There could even be more names for these models that are used across stores both online and on the high street, but these are the main models I am aware of. What are the differences? It sits below the Oral-B Pro 2000 and above the Oral-B Pro 600. In essence it is an upgraded special edition Oral-B Pro 600 with a travel case and bonus Oral-B pro expert toothpaste Does that mean it is good value for money? What features does it have? Find out more below. 1) Features – Oral-B Pro 650 review HandleYes it does have a quad pacer timer that pauses every 30 seconds. It does not have a visual timer that you can accurately find out how many seconds you have been brushing. After the dentist recommended 2 minutes of brushing, the brush head double pauses and this lets you know when to stop. What is the difference between the Oral-B Pro 600 and the Oral-B Pro 650? Another slight difference is the 9000’s lovely travel case has a clip built into the lid that holds a smartphone, for using the app when travelling. Do not rule the 650 out because of it, you do not have to use this feature, but if you do, just be aware of the conditions of use.
