About this deal

You can resell them or keep them if you’re planning to have more children in the future. And you can buy second-hand. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and some also come with a disposable or a washable liner which you use to collect your baby’s poo. Read more about choosing reusable nappies. Lidl claims its Lupilu nappies have magical air tubes with absorbent channels in the core to keep your baby dry for up to 12 hours (eight hours for the newborn range). They have soft fleece and an elasticated waistband for a comfortable fit. Its nappy range covers sizes one through to six, with three additional plus sizes. My little one found these really easy to pull up and down. With some he struggles as the leg cuffs are too tight but Mamia were perfect.

Aldi says its nappies have an ultra-dry air system with a fast-absorbing core to keep your baby dry for up to 12 hours. The nappies don’t contain any perfume, lotion or latex and are designed to be soft and breathable with a slim design for free movement. Aldi's nappies are available in sizes one to six, and there are also plus sizes for extra absorbency. Lidl Lupilu Nappies Reusable nappies have come a long way since terry squares. Poppers, velcro or plastic clips are used instead of pins and they often come as a one-size nappy which will fit for several years. There are a range of colourful and cool designs from brands available too. Reusable nappies are also chemical-free and, long-term, work out cheaper than disposables. They are easy to pull up and my child can do it themselves. The nappy is easy to remove with the tear away sides. They are too slim fitting across the bottom as you can see in the photos, so they are almost like thongs (even on my tall skinny 12kg toddler who wears age 4-5 years height clothes). This means that poo always leaks out the sides, onto clothes and soiling them.I recently changed from Pampers Premium to Pampers Baby Dry and they are excellent. My baby sleeps 10-12 hours with no leaks. I think they are great value for money because they are always on offer in the supermarkets.” Bethany: I would buy these over and over nappies on the product as the price is great but also I have had no issues with the nappy either. I think the price is what makes it stand out the most but also the awards they have won. To be honest I was quite wary of buying them as they are so cheap but since trying them there is not any other brand I would trust. My baby also seems to not have an issue with them either and have not experienced any nappy rashes whilst using these.

What are the best features of the Aldi Mamia nappy pants that make them ‘mum friendly'? (i.e: ease of use/leaks/storage etc.) Georgina: I would and do recommend these to other mums. The value for money based on price per nappy is unbeatable. They easily last 12 hours for night time sleep without leaking and can even contain a morning poo on top of that. The nappies have a cute design and are clearly marked with the size which is handy if you have multiple children in different size nappies. In summary – bargain price, great capacity, no strange smells and no leaks – PERFECT! Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Reviews

Although convenient and absorbent, disposables have their downsides. Most of them contain bleaching agents, dyes, latex, and other plastics. All nappies are tested before they go on sale, so although the materials are not harmful, if your baby has sensitive skin or allergies, there is a small chance of a reaction to the chemicals they contain. In many cases, swapping to a different brand will help avoid this issue. I’d say they have always been good for leaking till they got to stage 3, I’d also say these ones seem to be a lot better. The nappy pants have easy tear away sides and all-round stretch, making them as convenient as pants but with the absorbency of a nappy. Flexible leg cuffs also help prevent any leaks. I would when we came to potty training, due to the price, but they might be too small by that stage No leaks, snug fit, enough frills to avoid “poonami overflow” and perfect for my baby’s sensitive skin.’

What brands of nappy pants do you currently use most often? If you use Mamia, what other brands do you use? Asda Add that to the results from OUR tests with parents, who liked them for all the specific reasons that we love a good nappy: Would you consider changing from your current brand of nappies to Aldi Mamia and why? I already use Mamia nappies Gail: I have no hesitation to say that yes I would choose this product above all others on the market and yes I do think this product should win! It is of no lesser quality than other brands on the market which cost much more. It is definitely the price which makes this product stand out. With 2 young children and being on maternity leave, the cost of things is obviously very important to me, but I would be foolish to pay more for other brands when this one performs just as well as them, if not better than some.

Possibly but more unlikely as l tend to prefer to use a nappy that l am happy with in is effectiveness. Gail: The main thing which makes life easier as a mum with this product is simply the cost. These nappies are absolutely excellent value for money for disposable nappies. They are of excellent quality for their low cost, and otherwise are exactly the same as other disposable nappies on the market in terms of their ease of use etc, even those which cost much more. Both brands promise up to 12 hours of dryness meaning your baby’s bum and nappy should be nice and dry after a full night. We usually use Aldi’s Mamia and have never ever had a wee leak with them. We use them overnight for 12 hours and have never had a problem. Mamia nappies live up to their promise and really do offer 12 hours of dryness. The nappy feels dry and my daughter’s bum is dry and rash free after 12 hours in a Mamia nappy. Have you used Aldi Mamia nappy pants before? Yes I had used the size 6 nappy pants when my toddler was potty training.

The tear away sides make them easy to take off in the morning, without having to take his pj bottoms off. They also make it easy to clear up any accidents. Ease of pulling on and off, especially if its putting nappy pants on a toddler who is potty training and who has fallen asleep

Gail: I don't think I would change anything about this product really! If I had to make something up, I would say that perhaps a line which changes colour when the nappy has absorbed some liquid, like the smaller sizes have, could still be handy at times even in this size nappy, as they are as so absorbent that it is still not always easy to tell. But I’m really scratching around for something to say for this! As my son got older he started to wriggle a lot more so when he did this I had to start again put it straight under his bum again it was a nightmare, these was so much easier. The other day I spotted Pampers Baby-Dry nappies in size 4 in Wilkinsons and they were reduced to half price making them pretty much the same price per nappy as Mamia. I thought this was a good time to see what the Pampers nappies were like in a bigger size. In this post I will compare these two nappy brands in this size and let you know which one delivers… We go with Aldi nappies every time! I used them from newborn to size 6+ with my son, and am now using them again with my daughter. They are great value for money and, in my opinion, are better than some of the more expensive brands.”
