The One that Goes Behind the Scenes (SD, 42 minutes): The first real must-see special feature, this lengthy Discovery Channel documentary is easily the best extra available on the first ten discs and, after so many shallow clip montages, a genuine relief from the monotony. Candid and extensive, a variety of interviews with the cast and crew are intercut with fly-on-the-wall prep and production footage. But it's when the cameras go inside the writer's room, into the cast rehearsals and onto the stage in front of a live studio audience that the documentary really takes off. It's all a bit dated, I'll admit, and it focuses on Season Six episodes rather than much from Season Five. That doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable, though. Don't skip past this one assuming it's as trite as some of the supplemental drivel from the first four seasons. Behind the Style: The Look of 'Friends' (SD, 20 min) – Costume designer Debra McGuire, hair stylist Jonathan Hanousek, and makeup artist Robin Siegel. McGuire has the most to say, discussing how the clothing choices embodied the personality of each character. The others aren't bad, but there's not as much to talk about with hair and makeup. mission? To make depressed or unhappy clients smile again, whether it's a recently-cancelled TV star ("Mr. Frog"), a despondent gamer who pines visuals) whereas the other ones are not. As a newcomer, this didn't negatively affect my enjoyment of the material... but it did cause a bit

I am disappointed by how little effort went into bringing the audio quotient up to date for this show. However, I also wonder if the effort would have been even necessary for this type of show. I have to at least consider this aspect. Keeping an eye on him is Nicholas Elliott ( Damian Lewis– Dream Horse), who we see during a key scene where they’re together in a posh, smoky gentleman’s club, which gets bombed during the Blitz. Meanwhile, since everyone is suspected of wrongdoing, Anna Maxwell Martin ( Line of Duty) – as fictional character Lily Thomas – is keeping an eye on Elliott as he keeps an eye on Philby… at which point my brain starts to hurt. Fans might get upset over the shortcomings of this set. I can understand that. It does have some shortcomings, and because this show is an absolute favorite for so many fans (myself included) to say that the complete series release on Blu-ray (which has been a highly anticipated set) has some flaws and is not an entirely flawless release is going to be annoying for many of you out there. It's understandable. The One Where Rachel Tells Ross (SD, 23 minutes): Shortly after 9/11, a pre-recorded scene with a bomb joke left the producers with little choice but to alter the episode in which it appeared. For the first time, see the original producer's version of "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross" and read the original script. What's Up with Your Friends? (SD, 8 minutes): Brief montages highlighting the friends and other characters.

Audio Commentaries – Commentaries for "The One Where Rachel Tells Ross", "The One with the Videotape", and "The One Where Rachel Has a Baby" parts one and two with Bright, Kaufman, and Crane. We learn that Rachel waiting in the hospital while five other women give birth before her was inspired by Marta Kauffman's actual experience in the hospital waiting to give birth. Season 3: The One Where No One's Ready, The One With the Football (featuring Art Director John Shaffner), The One the Morning After Season 7: The One With the Holiday Armadillo ( featuring Costume Designer Debra McGuire), The One With Joey's New Brain, The One With Monica and Chandler's Wedding

Audio Commentaries – Commentaries for "The One Where No One's Ready", "The One With The Football", and "The One the Morning After" with Bright, Kaufman, and Crane. Art director John Shaffner also participates on "The One With The Football". These commentaries set up the template for the commentaries throughout the rest of the set, with each participant recorded separately. Crane mainly talks about writing, characters, and arc, Bright mainly talks about the logistics of shooting, and Kaufman usually tells anecdotes or just laughs at the jokes. In this set, we learn that the football park was built in a studio, and that Lisa Kudrow actually flashed people during that episode. Gag Reel (SD, 10 min) – A gag reel seems like a no-brainer for a show like this, so it's a bit surprising that it took six seasons to get one. It's nice to see the cast fumble and be real with each other, and some of the flubs are quite funny.

experience of youth while he marches into adulthood. Post-Vietnam War PTSD issues and homoeroticism are a few possible dramatic avenues for D rendered or real-world characters and other objects. But for these reasons, the wide majority of this series looks perfectly fine running at the

Audio Commentaries – Commentaries for "The One with the Holiday Armadillo", "The One with Joey's New Brain", and "The One with Monica and Chandler's Wedding" parts one and two with Bright, Kaufman, and Crane. Costume designer Debra McGuire also comments on "The One with the Holiday Armadillo", and she's a welcome and smart addition, as that particular episode has some very memorable costumes. Friends has finally arrived on Blu-ray. The good news? Friends has finally arrived on Blu-ray. The episodes have never looked better before. The bad news? None of the extended episodes included on DVD before are included here. None of the episodes are presented with a lossless audio presentation. The episodes are technically not presented with the original 1.33:1 aspect ratio (although... Friends does look so amazing in widescreen you might not even care about this at all). The set includes fewer brand-new extras than some were anticipating. The good news? Friends has finally arrived on Blu-ray. The episodes have never looked better before. The picture quality is grainy and has some softness overall. Yet it's a decidedly film-like transfer for each episode, there are no issues with abundant DNR or other manipulations, and everything looks free of any dirt or other problematic issues of the sort. There are also some minor issues in regards to color and contrast during many of the episodes, and this will be bothersome to some. However, these aren't deal-breaker issues. Mostly, I thought the show looked beautiful. There are some issues bust most of these issues are inherent to the time of the production and to the source material. Interestingly, he begins with the start of his career, sharing his limited interest in movies, pushed into a gig on "Angels Hard as They Come" by hisFriends of Friends Guestbook contains clips of guest star appearances and includes interviews across the seasons. Friends ran on NBC for 10 seasons, from 1994 to 2004, and centered on six friends in their twenties and thirties who lived in New York City. The six main cast members recently reunited for only the second time in the past 17 years to film a reunion special for HBO Max. This set isn't perfect. I can't argue that it is a perfect set because it's got a lot of issues that undoubtedly will annoy some buyers. What I will say is that I have never thought that this incredible series would ever arrive on Blu-ray in High Definition and that it would look as amazing as it does on this Blu-ray release. The show stars a talented cast, including the likes of Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, David Schwimmer as Ross Geller, Courteney Cox as Monica Geller, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, and Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay.
