About this deal

Take the last tie that you crocheted and flip it over to that lies smoothly against the brim rows. Use a yarn needle and your yarn end to stitch the last stitch to the top of the brim rows and then weave in your end. Weave in the end at the center of the crown rows. You will now be working rows perpendicular to the bonnet. This will create the ribbed edging. These rows will be referred to as Edging Rows (ER). In the following instruction I will be referencing a sl st to attach to Row 11. This refers to Row 11 of the bonnet. Last Row: CH 31, SC in second CH from hook. SC in next 29 CHs. (A total of 30 SC), rotate your work so you can work into the side of the rows from Part 2 and 3. Work 2 SC into the side of each brim row. Work 1 SC into the side of each side row.

ER 60-71: Repeat ER 2 and ER 3, attaching to sts 38-42 in Row 11 as you go. At the end of ER 71, attach with a sl st to st 42 of Row 11. Ch 1 and turn. Continue on to finishing instructions.

Work in a k2p2 ribbing (k2p2 across) for 4 rows. slipping the 1 st on each row flat portion for a 1 stitch salvage edge. End after completing a wrong side row. You only need some card, pom poms, coloured tissue paper, glue and scissors to create most of these DIY Easter hats, which come with easy-to-follow instructions. ER 43: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 26 and 27 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. ER 35: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 21 and 22 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. Work in a k2p2 ribbing (k2p2 across) for 4 rows. slipping the 1 flat portion for a 1 stitch salvage edge. Next row – sl1, k2tog, knit across (49sts)

ER 27: Working in BLO, sl st across (5). Attach to sts 16 and 17 of Row 11 with a Slst2TOG. Ch 1 and turn. Repeat rows 7&8 until the ear measures 6ins/15cm from cast on ending after completing a row 7. Row 9 – sl1, ssk, k9, k2tog, k1 (13sts) Brim Row 2: CH2, turn, DC in first ST, FPDC into next ST, *BPDC into next ST, FPDC into next ST,* repeat from *to* until only one ST remains. DC in last ST. Finishing Row Continued: Rotate your work so that you can work down the other side of the previous rows. Work 1 SC into the side of each row. Fasten off leaving a 10 inch yarn end for sewing. Note: We are continuing on from part 2, becuase row count will vary based on the size you are making, we are starting the row count over. All sizes will work the same number of brim rows. For Small Baby size bonnet, repeat Side row 2 until you have a total of 7 side rows and 10 rows total for your project. Cut 6 pieces of yarn 30ins long. Use 3 pieces per side. Using a crochet hook, fold 3 piece in half and pull from the center a loop though the corner of the bonnet. Pull the ends through that loop to fasten. Braid and tie off.
