Two brothers and a girl whose interest is part love, part obsession, part prize to be won. I can say that every time I write a review of Selena. She is NOT a writer for everyone because she takes things to such an extent that you really wonder how to enjoy this. I keep giving 5 stars because she keeps making me respond, whether it’s awkward or not. Plus, she has a writing style that will engulf you no matter how dark things get. And make no mistake, they get dark, twisted, disturbed and crazy.
Selena writes such multi-faceted characters and knows how to develop them so well that as the story progresses, what initially seems to be an irredeemable character becomes someone you can easily fall in love with. When I tell you everything about this book was perfect. I thought that I was in love with Maddox and his madness but nothing could have prepared me for Lennox. Like his and Scarlett's story was the epitomie of a dark toxic lovely time. It was raw and unfilltered and I loved every moment of it. I had such high hopes for this book. I’m so disappointed it’s ridiculous. Admittedly, Selena has been a bit hit and miss for me. Her first series was super meh but she hit it out of the park with Bad Apple and the rest. Her other books have been a mixed bag. I’m not sure why I had such high hopes for this one but it’s a huge miss. The spice in this book definitely needs a massive TRIGGER WARNING. The scenes contain a lot of red liquid and primal *minks*. I do also want to point out that this book is very heavy on the CNC so you have to always keep that in mind while reading this book. Because if you want some sweet love scenes you ain't getting it in here. To make up I have to say that Lennox really cares about aftercare and making Scarlet feel safe.

I mean the entire ending was laughable. Neither of them had any redeeming qualities and quite frankly she was sooo dumb she deserved him. I mean, part of me wanted Rae to do the right thing and stay away from Lennox and Maddox because her family/twin bond isn’t worth destroying. Part of me was Team Maddox, although I wanted Lennox to have his own version of happy. Maddox, the mysterious, tattooed, six-foot-four wall of muscle who glares at me like I’m the enemy but protects me like I'm a treasure. Only Happy When It Rains” is another winner in the Faulkner universe. It just keeps getting better!
The Rain King is a *dark romance* meant for 18+ readers who have *NO TRIGGERS.* It is a complete standalone. Book 2 is about a new couple. This book features Lennox and Scarlett. Lennox and Scarlett are sent on a trip together. Scarlett is the girlfriend of Maddox who is Lennox twin brother. If you read book 1 you will know the story behind Maddox and Lennox. Scarlett thinks she's going on a trip with her boyfriend but while sat on the plane waiting for her boyfriend Lennox turns up having been forced to take the trip to get him out of the way and also take on a job. A lot happens in this trip which neither of them thought would but it all works out how it was supposed to.

i mean the book had potential at first, the plot was still shit and all (even tho it was entertaining ill give it that) and sometimes the writing makes no sense (it's tryhard purple prose) and some descriptions r confusing i couldn't set the scene but at first the characters weren't that messed up and unlikeable and i actually liked maddox.
