About this deal

I don’t know when it’s winter how much the paraffin will cost. I don’t know from May, June, July and August how much paraffin is going to be. We are suffering, sometimes I don’t even have money to buy paraffin,” explains one community members. Global oil prices: As paraffin is derived from petroleum, fluctuations in the global oil market can impact its price. These prices are mainly affected by the international oil price, which has climbed steadily since the start of the year. Surely it should cost less than petrol. More than 60p of the petrol price is tax, so the actual fuel costs 30p a litre or less. Obviously there is far more competition in petrol prices, but even doubling it gives 60p per litre, and that is much as I would have expected to pay.

Its an electronic one with a fan, so the ony power used is to the fan, the hating is all done by paraffin. This heaters can be a bit of a double edged sword, running on standard Kerosene / Paraffin they produce one the cheapest forms of heat available – MUCH cheaper than producing the same amount of heat from using Electricity, LPG etc and certainly far more efficient than an average gas fire. However if I switched to Tozaine / Paraffin Extra / Barrettine / Homefire or any of the many other premium brands, then they would become one of the most expensive forms of producing heat. The rand remained relatively stabile in the first two weeks of March, but on average, however, the rand/dollar exchange rate has trended slightly higher than in February, within a narrow range of around R15.00 to the dollar. I bought an Inverter 5006 about 4 years second hand from a chap who used regular 28sec kerosene in it to heat his workshop. I decided to have it serviced by the ONLY company in Ireland that services them. After being dressed down by the service manager for not using Tozaine (a brand of C1 which they alone sell) and a bill of €100 (80 stg) I thought it better to burn C1. I have never been completely convinced however that burning ordinary 28sec oil is harmful to either the heater or to people. I am going to buy a Mr Funnel and try ordinary fuel again and see how I get on. At mid-March, the ZAR/USD exchange rate is contributing to an under-recovery of around 16 cents per litre – however, rising international product prices are contributing to an under-recovery of around 73 and 48 cents per litre to the under-recovery for petrol and diesel, respectively, causing the deficit. The price of paraffin in South Africa can vary depending on several factors, including location, time of year, and global oil prices. As of August 2021, a litre of paraffin costs around R14.96 in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal Provinces, while it costs slightly more in other provinces such as the Western Cape where it is sold for about R15.90 per litre. Although global fuel prices have stabilised, this stabilisation has not yet had a measurable effect on the local fuel prices besides the tariffs imposed in different zones, and there is still pressure as the global demand for Russian petroleum products increases. Certain products carry a surcharge due to these being oversized items or attracting a specific surcharge from the carrier. These are typically products such as tanks and barrels. no I am not a representative of Zibro, but I am reading about these things in the last 4 days constantly and I have probably went mad on them by now...)

Will. That is unfortunate, you must be overly sensitive or allergic to small amounts of kerosene fumes, which in my experience are only given out during the start / stop cycles – its worth noting that some people feel ill or suffer itchy / running eyes around portable Calor Gas fires for the same reason whilst many others are OK with them, and the same applies here. As per the theme of the blog, I’ve been using two heaters on 28 second domestic heating oil since 2010 without any ill effects to either the heaters or myself, and my experiences were so favourable that I even went to the expense of hosting and authoring a blog around the subject!, which rest assured I wouldn’t do if they had made me ill. One litre is costing something like R19. It means a week, I have to use something like R50 and here I have got a small baby by the house, he needs porridge and milk. Baby food has to be warm, [the baby needs warm water] to bath and you see we are going into winter,” says a community member. NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank to close at least 172 branches in 2023/24 – here's the full list, plus alternatives This pressure is expected to be sustained for the second quarter of the year, while commodities could fall out of favour, which would put the rand under additional pressure.

Well yes. I have. the thing is that if you don't want/ cannot do obvious cheapest option with massive investment (e.g. central heating with full insulation upgrade of your house), the electric heating is the most expensive option available. There were quite a few threads about it on this forum as well. Paraffin is the stuff you burn indoors, however in the UK kerosene normally refers to 28 second home heating oil, the same stuff as people run there boilers with in remote areas. The water vapour will condense when your house gets cold ... and use heat to evaporate when you next turn your heating on. So you really need to add this into your calculations (or the cost of running a dehumidifier, or the cost of opening doors and windows to get the water vapour out of the house, and letting more cold air in .....). The worse thing that an happen with paraffin is it leaks and makes a mess, but its not easy to ignite if it does leak (youd have to drop a flame on it) rather than leaking gas which can be ignited by even a light switch. Its amazing, VERY hot and economic and the best thing is its all containd, you just press a button and it lights itself and turns itself off too.

Paraffin 20 litre Spec

From this information, it is clear that the prices of paraffin have been steadily increasing since the beginning of 2022. There are various reasons why this happening, as can be seen below: Reason

Researcher, Nkosinathi Majozi says times are tough for many, with increasing fuel prices also impacting taxi fares and the general prices of goods. But what about kerosene? How does it compare to paraffin? While kerosene is often used interchangeably with paraffin, there are some differences between the two fuels. For one thing, kerosene tends to be slightly more expensive than paraffin, although the price difference may not be significant depending on where you live. In National Treasury’s 2021 budget, it was announced that motorists will pay an inflation-related increase of 15 cents/litre in the general fuel levy and a higher-than-inflation increase of 11 cents/litre in the Road Accident Fund levy. Disodium thiosulfate [Na 2S 2O 3 or Na 2O 3S 2] weighs 1700 kg/m³ (106.12753 lb/ft³) [ weight to volume | volume to weight | price | mole to volume and weight | mass and molar concentration | density ] Now safety.. Never ever use it in a room where anyone will be sleeping and that incudes your baby. Carbon Monoxide is poisonous and this heater does emit a very small amount of it. You need to ventilate your house to ensure these levels don't get too high. You also need an audible detector.

Also known as liquid paraffin, paraffin oil or kerosene. Paraffin is a mixture of different types of simple hydrocarbons. It is less volatile than gasoline and it boils at 302-527 degrees Fahrenheit. The extraction process can use coal, wood and oil shale. One of the primary way’s of obtaining paraffin is from the distillation of petroleum, which was first distilled in 1807 by geologist Abraham Gesner. It required discovering new sources and better ways of refining before the cost became affordable.
