Any death is either inevitable, in service of propelling the story forward, or to prove a point about the characters involved, so that's nice. Matthew Rosenberg (with a story assist by James Tynion IV) manages to make the story believable even while never forgetting it's about superheroes and vampires, so it should be inherently dumb too. It’s just hard seeing how our heroes can come out on top in this scenario when the enemy is just as dedicated, just as powerful, greater in number and right now holds every advantage.
