Samsung soundbars tend to have a small screen that displays inputs and volume levels. If there are messages, the text needs to scroll to fully display. While some may prefer this interface over light indicators, others might be annoyed by the scrolling text. The Q60B gets Samsung’s Game Bar interface, which provides key information on incoming gaming graphics and provides faster access to a few gaming-related features. This includes support, uniquely at this price point, for the Super Ultrawide GameView feature that lets you play some compatible PC games in a 32:9 aspect ratio to increase your field of view. There’s also ALLM switching but, unfortunately, that’s the last of the cutting-edge gaming features; there’s no support over any of the TV's three HDMIs for either 4K at 120Hz feeds, or VRR. While the HW-Q60B has a bit better frequency response, the LG S65Q is better in handling distortion on both normal listening volume and max volume. At normal listening volume, both may have good performance of handling harmonic distortion, allowing them can produce pure and clean sound. But at max volume, their total harmonic distortion is rapidly deteriorating, especially for the HW-Q60B. But of course, this certainly is not a big issue since most people rarely set them at max volume. The Samsung Q600B’s soundbar controls are pretty much what we’d expect given the soundbar’s price. The soundbar has several buttons that Samsung has placed on top. These are four physical buttons for power, volume control and source selection. They may look cheaper than touchscreens, but are preferred in most cases as they are easier to find in a dimly lit room. Winner: The Samsung HW-Q60B has better frequency response, the S5Q has better total harmonic distortion. Center Speaker Performance Their difference is also on the front side. Both sides of the front of HW-Q60B are angled while both sides of the front of the S65Q is elbow. Additionally, on the bar of the Q65Y, there are slightly indentations on the top and bottom side of the front while the HW-Q60B looks stiffer. Their dimension is also not much different. The length of the HW-Q60B is a bit longer, which is around 103 cm while the length of the LG S65Q is around 100 cm. While their depth and width is almost similar, only millimeters adrift. Conclusion
When used for listening to the music, the Samsung HW-Q60B is also a bit better than the LG S65Q thanks to its slightly better stereo performance. As we have discussed above, default sound produced by the HW-Q60B is more neutral than the LG S65Q that has a bit more bass-heavy sound profile. However, in general, performance of the S65Q is also good enough to listening the music. Their sound at the mids is well balanced, making lead instrument is heard clearly and can present in the mix. Additionally, both are also able to create little boom at high-bass that adds a nice rumble. The Q60B’s picture hardware is driven by a Quantum Processor 4K lite system that seems to be more or less on a par with the Crystal processor found in Samsung’s non Quantum Dot TVs. Certainly, it doesn’t appear to have any of the machine learning/AI elements you get higher up Samsung’s TV range, with Samsung’s blurb on it only really talking about improved upscaling of sub-4K content and the ability to automatically adjust the sound profile to suit different content types.
Overall, though, there just isn’t enough power or dynamic range available to really get the sound out into your room as much as you’d like it to. Verdict Dolby Digital: This widely-used format provides a higher bandwidth sound that handles five discrete audio channels for surround sound and a subwoofer channel. Movie Mode: Enhances the audio experience for movies, providing immersive surround sound and emphasizing dialogue clarity. Both of them are good sound bar for TVS shows or podcast thanks to their discrete center speaker. They both have neutral sound profile, allowing them can reproduce clear voices. Additionally, dialogue is also detailed and present in mix thanks to their balanced mids. So, when you are watching TV shows or Podcast, the voices of announcer will be heard clearly. Additionally, they both also have Dialogue Enhancement features that allows you to further improve the clarity of voice produced. On the LG S65Q, you can use Clear Voice mode while on the Samsung HW-Q60B, you can use “Adaptive Sound” feature. Meanwhile, compare between them, the Samsung HW-Q60B is a bit better. Although in general, both have well balanced sound profile, but the HW-Q60B can produce clearer and more accurate voice thanks to its better stereo frequency response.

Both of the Samsung HW-Q60B and LG S65Q have a simple design. They are made of the same materials, which is good-quality plastic. The difference is the material that cover it. The HW-Q60B have a solid metal grid that cover the front side of the bar. On the other hand, for the S65Q, the top and fronts of the bar are covered by high quality fabric. Wi-Fi and SmartThings: The soundbar’s Wi-Fi connectivity enables effortless integration with your home network and provides access to online music streaming services. It can also be controlled through the SmartThings app, allowing for convenient management of settings and features. Once you’ve grown accustomed to these highlights of the Q60B’s pictures, you also become aware of its excellent sharpness. This is especially true with native 4K content, of course, but actually its upscaling of HD sources is also a cut above the norm at this price point, even without the full might of Samsung’s AI-based databases on hand to help it identify and respond to different sources more effectively. This input lag figure is about as low as it gets in the TV world, potentially giving you a critical advantage over people gaming on less rapid TVs. Note that you can, if you wish, sacrifice a little input lag, pushing it up to around 26ms, to get slightly better overall picture quality, by choosing the Faster or Fast rather than Fastest response time options. This is worth considering for games that aren’t as reliant on super-fast response times. However, you naturally don't get as much flexibility as with the manufacturer's top options. As with most budget bars, there's no support for Dolby Atmos, so you can't take advantage of more immersive object-based formats often found on streaming services. Its surround sound performance is also pretty abysmal. Without discrete surrounds, it has to downmix this content into stereo to play it, which doesn't sound quite as immersive. That said, if you aren't much of a movie fan, it's a great fit. Ultimately, it still makes for a solid upgrade over your existing TV speakers at a wallet-friendly price.
