Its very soft material and once I felt safe enough to take my hands away it was very supportive of baby. (more than I thought it would be). Now, let's set expectations straight – breastfeeding in a baby wrap or newborn baby carrier is not a completely hands-free endeavour. You'll still need at least one hand to support your baby's head. Once you're comfortably seated, you can switch one arm for a cushion if you like, but if you're on the move – like in a queue at the supermarket – you'll still need one hand on duty.
