This is an powerful book about spousal abuse in the extreme. While I found the story interesting, I could not fully understand why a woman who is a psychologist did not manage to get away from this man. It alludes to the fact that the British legal system is quite lenient to a man with money and power. I think that had Eve asked for help from the authorities earlier, she might had stood a better chance of getting away from this man. The author writes Eve as a strong woman but I felt that she was just weak. Oakley and Ava meet one night at Oakley’s going away party as he transitions to the minor leagues. Oakley isn’t in the party mood, and Ava had just caught her boyfriend cheating. They end up talking for hours before going their separate ways. On the other hand, after finally getting free of a toxic four-year-old relationship, Sierra decides to stay single for as long as possible. She only has her eyes set on getting a very much-deserved promotion at work; to her, the promotion is a straightforward plan. But after sending a one-night stand entangled in Braden’s sheets, the two will find it harder to continue living their normal lives. Or are they read for sex with no strings attached? Other info: MCs knew each other since kindergarten. They fell in love in HS but never had sex. Hero is an NHL player and she is a Veterinarian. After HS, they separated because heroine's father was trying to steer him in a wrong career move and instead of heroine standing up for Hero and bashing her father, she took her father's side because she was "too young & scared of losing him". This made them break up for 8 years. I’ll forever recommend Hannah’s books to everyone and their mother. I’m super excited for the next book. The little snippets we got have me so hyped! She’s utterly destroyed me. Put me under a spell that I would pay to keep from breaking. If I wasn’t already positive I was falling in love with her, I would undoubtedly know it now. The drama level was low. And I’d get pleasantly surprised by the *chefs kiss* communication in this book too. Thrillers based on domestic violence are a favourite psychological thriller theme, but this one makes an impact because of its professional language and authenticity. It's not easy to read, the author jumps between timelines, the abuser and his victims but although it is sometimes difficult to follow, it makes it realistic and believable.

Ang malala pa ay nabaliktad ang sitwasyon at siya ang lumalabas na manloloko. Naisumpa niya sa sarili na hindi na muling magmahal at pagbayarin ang dalawang nagwasak sa kaniyang puso. Adalyn , her carefree and wild spirit is such a breath of fresh air. I absolutely love her “I don’t care, I just want to live my best life” attitude, her love for adventures and her cute obsession with the color pink!! She knows exactly whats she wants and isn’t afraid to get it!
