About this deal

When it comes to how it’s built, this speaker feels solid and firm. The speaker has a beautiful crescent diffuser to lead the high frequencies that nest around the bass driver. Furthermore, this speaker has two ports in the front. These ports ensure that you can mount the speaker next to a wall without effect.

The Tweeter and the woofer are both carefully positioned to eliminate crossover and ensure that you get a balanced response across the frequencies. They have also included class AB amplifiers to ensure that you get perfect clarity with little distortion and no loss of quality. However, they are not suited for professional applications. In the case that you enjoy or need your studio monitors to accurately represent soundscapes, then you should consider investing a little more money into your audio system. If you are serious, then double the price can get you some truly outstanding budget speakers, such as the Adam T5Vs.Every DJ needs speakers to be heard and the DM-40 range by Pioneer DJ is a compact bookshelf speaker system that aims to be more than just a DJ speaker. With various inputs and even inbuilt Bluetooth on some models, is the DM-40 the ultimate speaker choice for those with limited space and budget? In this review we find out! Build Quality The amplifiers in the DJ DM 40 speakers are designed to ensure minimal levels of low distortion, even when cranking the volume. The tweeters and woofers are both aligned with each other so that there is no crossover between them. Having the speakers play on low volume, yet still thump is pretty neat. It keeps things exciting and makes you want to keep playing, moving, and grooving. It’s also worth noting that the speakers bluetooth will play at the same time as any physically connected devices. With no way of turning off the bluetooth module, anybody previously paired to your speaker can play over your DJ set with ease. Our Thoughts They have 3/4 inch soft dome tweeters with convex diffusers built into the monitors that use DECO technology from TAD Labs. The diffusers channel the high frequencies left, right and up to deliver a wide sweet spot and a 3D stereo sound whether you sit or stand.

The DM 40s come with two-meter long audio cables, power leads, and some foam cushions that act as miniature isolation pads. We tested the Pioneer monitors in a small studio, where we had already performed an acoustic measurement, and based on the results, the acoustic treatment was also done. On the walls were printed sound-absorbing panels depicting instruments and parametric diffusers in a rather modern style. In a music studio, perfect musical piece of work can only be made if the acoustics of the place are properly treated with the right acoustic elements. The other half of the story is the Production Mode. This mode aims to flatten out the response to a more neutral setting. The goal is to allow these monitors to pull double duty by being a viable option for music production where neutrality is critical. Great studio monitors are probably the most important sonic tool to help you create and shape your music – they are, essentially, your digital ears. The front mounted bass ports help the bass driver drop lower, moving more air as a result. Although most speakers feature a bass port, they are often found on the rear of the speaker. As a result most speakers suffer in performance if mounted close to a wall. Thankfully, Pioneer DJ have placed two ports on the front of the speaker, meaning the DM-40 is perfectly suited to being placed close to a wall.

According to Pioneer, the DJ DM 40 units are made to be very user-friendly when it comes to connectivity. The specially engineered ducts cut down on impediments and produce a clean, grand, low-end oomph regardless of your volume levels. Class AB Amplifiers
