I don’t want to get into an argument about whether you feel it is safe or not to use one of these candle lanterns inside a tent, I just want to report our experience and findings when using it. After lighting the candle and waiting ten minutes, the in-tent temperature remained at 45°. In other words, there was no increase in temperature from the candle. After waiting for another 15 minutes, for a total of 25 minutes, the temperature remained under 50°F (10°C).Again, the former firefighter in me can’t stress enough that you should not use an open flame or an enclosed candle lantern in a tent.
