A defendant accused of killing his wife in western Wisconsin and of disguising the crime as a freak pipe-through-the-windshield car accident has taken the stand in his own defense and has partially changed his version of events the day his wife died. The defendant, Todd Kendhammer, is accused of first-degree intentional homicide in relation to the death of his 46-year-old wife, Barbara Kendhammer. Todd insisted he did nothing to hurt Barbara. After a nearly four-hour interview, investigators were unable to get a confession and let Todd go.
EXAMINING THE EVIDENCE
Broken glass from the windshield was found in the gear shift: Investigators theorized that this could have only occurred if the vehicle was in park at the time the windshield was broken. Verdict: maybe. It’s possible that when Todd placed the car in park after the pipe hit the windshield, glass shards were then transferred into the gear shift console as he scrambled to get out of the car and remove Barbara from the vehicle. Hours" reached out to Gerianne and she denies Jessica's claims that she was estranged from Barbara. But her testimony wasn't the only surprise that day. Gruenke had some harsh words for the Kendhammer family, who had to sell Todd and Barbara's home and Jessica's house to pay Todd's legal bills.
