About this deal

If you like your stories fast-paced, full of dangers and conflicts and impossible situations, then you will love this book. Lauren and the others endure all manner of perils and threats, and the plot twists and turns like a helter-skelter. Characters turn out to be not what they seemed, and you never know from one chapter to the next who will suddenly change sides and betray or help. There is time, however, for ample exploration of Lauren's state of mind, particularly her guilt at not protecting Madison from harm and her despair as the whole horrible nightmare starts again. Talking about their last conversation, her dad said: “"She had done her work and she was very upbeat about getting her mortgage sorted. I felt this book was great as a sequel to girl missing- it has everything that a good thriller should but still makes the book accessible for younger teens who are just starting out the genre. It’s faced paced, snappy and jumps right into the action without dawdling around the events of its predecessor to the point of unavoidable boredom. The Seven Sisters series sees Lucinda Riley at the top of her game: she is a magical storyteller who creates characters we fall in love with and who stay with us long after we finish reading. Her latest book, The Missing Sister, is what we’ve all been waiting for.’ Read more: Woman, 45, who went missing while walking dog ‘was on work conference call when she disappeared’

We didn’t go into the house, as a volunteer search and rescue team we don’t actually go into buildings. We might go into a barn or something. We leave that to the police. It's two years after the events of Girl, Missing and life is not getting any easier for sixteen-year-old Lauren – exam pressure and a recent family heartbreak have taken their toll. I also am very content that the character Lauren is much less whiney and matured a lot, during this book. She becomes much more selfless and boxes her feelings much more rather than making a huge deal out of them. I enjoyed reading this more because of her character. The alarm is raised at 10.15am by a walker who found her Springer Spaniel running loose The dog’s harness and lead were found on a bench, along with her phone, which was still connected to a work conference call Lauren has spent a tumultuous couple of years, finding her birth mother and working out ways to stay in the lives of both of her families. To make things unbearably harder, her father Sam has died suddenly, nine months before the beginning of this story, and the constant hostility of her older sister shows no sign of abating. Shelby, understandably, resents the constant attention paid to this sister who turned up out of the blue one day, and feels she is being ignored in consequence. The book is written in the style of many letters and Bea is writing to her sister, as well as reminiscences and self reflections. The gaps in the plot may be huge and the ending is quite unbelievably awful (in my humble opinion) however, as a diverting read and a bit of escapism, you can forgive the author and thank her for the ride. The writing is good, and has some heart warming moments of sibling love and tenderness, and it keeps you interested throughout. Perhaps a bit of a minor point, but Tess's body lies undiscovered in a Hyde Park toilet for five days...? Is it really plausible that nobody would have gone into the building in all that time, especially since a young girl was missing from the local area and the case was being publicised heavily? As Madison gets drawn into a mysterious investigation involving missing girls and secret hideaways, she finds herself embroiled in more and more danger. . .

The location of the bench it is believed that Ms Bulley left her mobile phone on before she vanished on Friday.

I liked Girl, Missing, but I did read it ages ago, and i've got more fussy about books, so if I re read it now I might not like it.

The last possible sighting – though it has never been confirmed – was of her praying in St David's Church in the city centre. The housekeeper of the church at the time, Mary Jones, told the South Wales Evening Post that though she hadn't seen the face of the person at prayer she knew the nun and thought it was her. She said: "She often came in to pray but I couldn't see her face that afternoon. She was a a dear little creature, a lovely soul. Dreadfully shy to the point of being timid."They only have one clue – an image of a star-shaped emerald ring. The search to find the missing sister will take them across the globe; from New Zealand to Canada, England, France and Ireland, uniting them all in their mission to at last complete their family. If you know her, or believe this may be you, please get in touch. You may not think you know anything but you might have seen something that could be significant.” It comes after it emerged Nicola's daughters heard the devastating news their mum had gone missing when their dad told them “mummy’s lost.”
