About this deal

If you need to add anti wear additives because your present oil has a low TBN or you are using some kind of supermarket dino oil that does not already contain a good balance of additives then Ceretec is a better choice. If you add too much Moly it upsets the way the different additives function. Most oil additives can be added to motor oil at any time but we recommend using them at every oil change. However, it is best to follow what the manufacturer states as some differ. We would also advise that you only use the specified amount once per oil change because using it too often may completely change the chemical formulation of the oil. Conclusion

As an engine begins to age, debris and sludge can buildup, which can cause performance issues. Using an oil additive will help remove and move the debris away from metal surfaces. This will also help the potential of corrosion to exist. How Often Should You Use It? I've been using MoS2 on the 325 for 100K mi (since about 45K) and the engine is super-smooth, including cold-starts (and I mean like 1-week-without-starting-the-engine cold starts). My dad used to swear by this stuff and now I know why. The difference it made to my ZHP (had 65K when I bought it) was amazing and everyone's who's used it has noticed a remarkable smoothing of the engine... it DOES quiet it down some, though (for those that like 'em loud). I pour in one bottle (300ml) after every oil change (7500). Here's a nice article on it: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/moly-basics/ -- MoS2 is an ingredient in most motor oils already, but in much smaller quantities.Sea Foam is by far the most popular oil additive and it can be used in both automotive and marine engines. It is an EPA registered product that contains 100% per petroleum for optimum cleaning power when mixed with the oil. All of our recommendations cover a variety of potential issues that can occur with older engines and even modern engines. Engine Compatibility Firstly I would caution you that it might not be good for the spark plugs if you have a petrol car, although that possible side effect seems fairly minimal. Secondly some of the engineers and chemical engineering chaps here in Germany have said that although the UOA results show an improvement in wear metals, it does nothing for cylinder head wear or carbon deposit issues, so if you use it about every 25K km (It doesn't seem to last as long as advertised) longterm, your engine will eventually fail because of valve seating or other top end problems rather than ring or bearing wear.

I don't think this additive will make the turbo last any longer as they fail because of poor driver style, bad oil or poor filtration issues and the very high oil temperatures would burn if off the turbo shell bearings. The APL experts determined the relative scuffing load capacity of lubrication oils. Between the edges of the teeth, rolling off and sliding occur at the same time. Due to unfavorable operating conditions the lubricant film can break down between the tooth edges. This leads to short-term local fusion and disintegration of the edges, so-called scuffing, which causes damage to the smooth surface of the teeth edges. Lucas is a popular automotive brand that proudly produce all their products in the US. Their heavy duty oil stabilizer promises to increase the life of the oil by over 50% and reduce oil consumption. Just the demand for APL’s expertise alone has been unusual. «LIQUI MOLY is the first company in the after-sales market that has been prepared to undergo voluntary tests», said Kunz. He is responsible for the testing of lubricants and fuels. In terms of using the Liqui Moly Cera Tec, you simply pour it straight into the oil because it is a self-mixing formula (as shown in the main image). Once it has mixed with the oil, the brand claim it will protect the engine for up to 50,000 KM. To that end whenever tasked with the above job, I grab a can of L-M MoS2 and put it into the engine and let run for 1/2 hr. before it comes in. The work is done, engine primed and an oil change with another can of MoS2 is added in. So far... VG results. Cera Tec is an oil additive that significantly reduces wear and tear and protects the engine, even in the case of an oil loss. It is effective up to 30,000 miles. Less wear and tear means fewer problems with worn-out parts and that means a longer engine lifetime.” Do you have any evidence to prove Cera Tec actually makes a difference to preserving an engine? Radiator cleaners There seems to be more cleaners that can help, such as LIQUI MOLY’s Radiator Cleaner. How does this work? Older engines in particular can benefit hugely from using an oil additive. They can still be used in modern engines but due to the complexity on these engines, modifying the chemical formula of the overall oil may effect the performance.

On the vehicle distortion test bench the test oil was mixed with 6 per cent Cera Tec. With each test sequence the weight, and thereby the force level, on the sensitive transmission gear wheels was increased. The aim of the experiment is to reach the damage force level. This level is reached when the sum of all damage caused to the teeth of the gear wheels is more than 20 millimeters. The test is then ended. The reference oil came up to damage force level 4; the oil mixed with Cera Tec reached as far as level 9, hence to more than double the level. «Cera Tec markedly increases the power reserve, which confirms the anti-wear protection by the fine ceramic particles,» is how Dipl.-Ing. Peter Kunz, who supervised the test, summarizes the results. Kunz’s initial skepticism gave way: After the tests I was amazed. The product has made everything, and I really mean everything, better.» Before letting the engine get to this point, you should be either using an oil additive or performing an oil change. Increase Fuel Economy I find it ironic that we often see demonstration of oil additives protection on rigs that don’t look a bit like an engine internal. They usually involve a spinning bearing against something metallic to illustrate friction. Well, lo and behold , Liqui Moly Ceratec had just done one on a real working engine, thanks to yours truly and all I have to say is’ thank god this sh*t works!!’

Gearbox cleaners

CERA TEC is self-mixing and compatible with all standard motor oils. It is ideal for use in oil-lubricated transmissions, pumps and compressors. Also tested for vehicles Possible consequences: higher engine and transmission noise until failure of the gear wheels occurs. working for a worldwide client base from the automobile, oil and additives industries. The company is specialized in the mechanics of engine and drive trains and their operating supplies. On nearly 145 state of the art engine and component test rigs, more than 700 employees apply the latest measurement technology. Finally after having Liqui Moly’s Ceratec added in my Silvia S13 on 6th May 2011 , one year and 9 days later , I had decided to do an oil change!!
