About this deal

Aether Khemist – Handing out +1 to rend to a Skyfarer unit every turn helps getting through armour, especially if used injunction with the Admirals Grudgebreaker rounds (+1 rend) units in the army can get up to 4 rend! Arkanaut Admiral – An absolute all star giving out +1 rend to a non Skyvessel, a free command ability to his flagship and the Thunderers every turn. Blissbarb Archers are the lowest echelon of mortal Hedonites of Slaanesh, which means that they’re not even permitted the ecstasy of duking it out in melee combat with all their sensation-seeking friends.

The net effect is that the Hedonites battletome feels like it’s “copying the first book’s homework, but make it look like you didn’t.” with a minimal amount of effort to feel like something new. This doesn’t have to be a bad thing – both Daughters of Khaine and Disciples of Tzeentch are flavorfully similar to their previous iterations but include adequate updates for the environment they’re being put into. Meanwhile the Hedonites book went through several adjustments and got whole new units and should have felt much more well, new. Instead it feels like we have something dangerously close to being “Sylvaneth 2.0.” These inadequacies are even more stark when you put the book next to Daughters of Khaine. Let’s compare the two, shall we? The Orangey Yellow (henceforth just yellow) worked pretty well on the banner too after a drybrush of VGC Scrufulus Brown to tidy up the streaks of Fuegan orange. If it worked well on a larger area I wondered if it would work as the main colour but I didn’t want to change the colour scheme of the Gors so I decided to look for another Chaos model that had horns and lots of fabric. Introducing the “Herdspeaker”, or Shard Speaker as GW calls them:

Blissbarb Archers are the footsoldiers of the Slaanesh Sybarites. They are the lowest of Slaanesh's mortal devotees, and as such are not yet permitted by their domineering champions to engage in the glory of hand-to-hand combat. As such, they take up the task of bringing pain and destruction to the enemy from afar, becoming nimble archers. [1a] This is the top three AoS lists for Wargames for Warriors that took place in Utah, USA on the 20th and 21st of May. It involved 22 players vying to be crowned champion in a 5-game tournament. Short Announcement Forcing heroes who have non-interactable and exceptional buffs, who are fragile, like the Shardspeaker, to be danger close, is actually a good thing, in comparison to how relatively safe and consistent units like Skink priests are. Winners in the book to build around There are many powerful and versatile units across the Hedonites of Slaanesh faction, and some more, in particular, are about to see some significant benefits from the new edition. Sigvald, Prince of Slaanesh The Slaanesh Sybarites are the newest Age of Sigmar expansion to the Hedonites of Slaanesh army. As such the models are all, except one, brand-new and there are no discounted box available yet.

This is a hard one to assess because as of this writing Slaanesh isn’t doing so hot. Slaanesh mortals even worse so. So whether you want this is going to hinge entirely on whether or not your interested in pursuing a Hedonites of Slaanesh Mortals army regardless of how well you’ll do on the table.

Tips on painting the Hedonites of Slaanesh What changed in the new edition for the Slaanesh Sybarites Dark Revellers?

I much prefer their new warscroll because now I can be aggressive with the unit and have a consistent source of rend 2 on infantry whose damage output is effectively doubled from what it was. Do I think this makes the Banshee a power house? No not really, but they’re a much better harassment unit than they were (a low bar to clear admittedly). In addition, it gives me an interesting source of non-traditional magic defenses that can be effective even against megacasters with large casting bonuses like Lord Kroak that do large amounts of aoe damage. In the end it will depend on your personal preference, but you have several options available. Apart from the Lord of Pain ability or the one from the Blissbrew Homonculus, there are no other synergistic abilities, so when dividing the warband in the 3 groups you could have completely heterogeneous groups each specialized in something. Pros and cons of the Slaanesh Sybarites Has an interactable warscroll ability, which requires you to get dangerously close (9″ range) and works on a 3+, giving it a not super reliable ability while the unit itself will die to an angry squint coming from most anything in the game in retaliation.Slaanesh disciples are divided between those searching for him, those pretending to have replaced him by ascending to godhood and those that do not care and thrive only in war and unending conquests. Just before the launch of the new wave of Slaanesh mortals, Games Workshop presented different tutorials to get ready as soon as you can put your hands on the newest models in town.
