About this deal

I looked down at my bare legs and brown leather booties, clenching my teeth to keep them from chattering. “Like what?” The story felt all over the place, physically and emotionally. Swan glosses over the passage of time, making it difficult for the reader to connect with the love story. Months of connection is lost when the author writes ‘six weeks later’ at the beginning of every chapter. I have been waiting for this book ever since I closed The Casanova and take a bow Tee because it was a perfect ending. once again, TL Swan has brought us a new swoony billionaire to fall for 😍 This was book four in the miles high club and follows the youngest brother, Christopher. Hayden is perfect girlfriend and such a sweetheart, that You can only love with every single heartbeat. You know this feeling, when the sun starting to shine at Your face, after rainy, cold day ???? Hayden is my sunshine, she's different but she's amazing just the way she is. She took Christopher by surprise, and guess what ??? She is exactly everything what he needed!

The only bad things in this book were Tristan and Jameson; I detested them in their book and I detested them here. Aldo Mr. Masters... I hate you. Aging myself here with these incoming references, but The Do-Over gave off Ferris Buellers Day Off vibes, as well as Groundhog Day – two absolute cult classics. I really enjoyed how the author tied these similarities into her work, but made it her own. I was happy to see the author choose a holiday that was not Christmas or Halloween. In my opinions those two are just way over used for time-loop novels (for good reasons, I know.. but still). Valentine’s Day was a nice change of pace, after all, we’ve all wished we could re-do a perfect Valentine’s at least once, right? Just when I thought TL Swan couldn't get any better, she totally delivered and then some when she wrote THE DO-OVER, the fourth (and last) installment of the Miles High Club series. I don't know what it is about the book, but it really resonated with me. It's by far my favorite Miles High Club. For me, there are only two extremes with the author's books - I either hate them or love them. Unfortunately, she could not inspire me with "The Do-Over". I love Christopher. Like with a passion. Him and Hayden 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼are just something else, in the best way!!!

I got dressed and ran upstairs to scarf a protein bar before leaving for school. As I ripped open the wrapper, my eyes wandered over to the pie pan that was sitting beside the microwave like temptation incarnate. Yes, the leftover piece of French silk pie would taste amazing, I thought as a took a big bite of peanut butter and whey, but a slice of sugar and carbs was no way to start the day. And he was right. Because as I walked over to where my planner sat open on my desk, I felt amazing. I hummed “Lover” as I put on my glasses and consulted the day’s list. That being said, I did still really enjoy this book. It was a slow start. I really didn't start to find myself invested until about the 30% mark, but once I hit that point, I devoured the rest of the book in one sitting. Christopher was another spectacular Miles brother. I really enjoyed the fact that T L Swan wrote him to be afraid of imperfections and it made his chapters really enjoyable to read. He also had just that perfect amount of possessive and jealous levels that he shares with the rest of his brothers. Hayden was a bit of a bore for me and I didn't really find anything about her that stood out. I just felt like Emily, Claire, and Kate all had a bit more fiestyness to them. However, I did enjoy the romance and relationship between the 2. Their friendship was believable and the journey to lovers was even more believable. Basic synopsis is that Billy and Jenna were high school sweethearts, had a bit of an oops baby, got married, Billy went pro for baseball, they had another baby and then the pressure of Billy's career got to be too much so they divorced and are now awesome co-parents. (Run on sentence much?) Now the kids are older, Billy's figuring out his career and Jenna is a bit more confident in herself. Billy has the opportunity to play in Japan which means a big change for their family but first he has to prove his family values as his past as Billy "Club" has put a mar on his reputation. Enter Jenna who is all for helping Billy and his career and maybe getting some space from the man who is still "the one" for her. But as the two spend more time together without the kids to up Billy's image, they learn a lot more about the mature versions of themselves and what feelings are still there for both. Enter a bit of drama (I won't spoil this) but things really come to a decision making point for Jenna in what she can handle and what she won't. Hayden was so likable and very easy to relate to. I loved how she stayed true to herself no matter how hard it was. I wanted to say no because I blamed him for this disaster, but I was chilled. My classic pink Ralph Lauren oxford dress had been too cute to cover with a coat, but that’d been before I was standing out in the cold, watching my vehicle become a bonfire. Hayden and Christopher’s story felt so organic and natural, I felt like I was spending time with my friends. I did not want this to end. These have legitimate issues to overcome and Sean does that realistically (although I definitely was mad at them for not figuring out the answer earlier lol). I read this in about 4 hours bc it’s that good. Props to TL Swan for dropping in 3 old friends, too ☺️

Their relationship is purely platonic as far as Hayden is concerned but Christopher sets himself a goal to be ejected from the friend zone and fall into Hayden’s bed. The road to achieve in this goal is definitely not paved with gold for Christopher and he learns so much about himself on the journey. I did like that the romance is slow burn and they become friends first. I do think Christopher’s character became better over time, because of his journey and time with Hayden. I did enjoy his relationship with Eduardo, a boy he meets along the way who was honestly a highlight of the book. I was currently super into Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours album but I shrugged and said, “I kind of just listen to the radio.” This entire story was just downright phenomenal. It felt different somehow, but it was the absolute perfect ending to the miles high club series. I am so sad that the series has come to an end. I’m not ready for it to be over!!!!!!!!! But y’all. I seriously loved it. I laughed, but I also cried. My emotions were all over the place. I was so in my feels and I can’t wait to talk to y’all about it.When you realize you’re living a life without substance and decide to leave for a year to dig deep and find out who you truly are. It can’t all be about money and sex. Life is so much more. Christopher sets out to discover himself and finds things he never knew he wanted or needed. Hayden goes through a rough breakup and decides she needs to get away and do something for herself. Coming from two very different worlds, these two collide and find that maybe home is somewhere you never expected. This book has all of the signature sarcasm, hilarity and charm that TL Swan is known for. Christopher has some hilarious responses when things get slightly inconvenient and his alpha tendency towards being protective made me swoon at times. Hayden is unflappable. She takes every situation in stride and somehow manages to put up Christopher’s childishness and immaturity without much complaint. Unfortunately, this was not only due to the unsuccessful realisation of the plot, but mainly due to the horrible and obnoxious protagonist Christopher. I also didn’t care for how the perfectionist and therapy stuff was brought up about Christopher as a kid and then was just never brought up again for the rest of the book. Like it’s clearly still an issue. This could have been a great opportunity for mental health and therapy representation.
