The most complex element of Red Dragon Inn is the gambling... and it's very simple! For their action, players can play a Gambling card which will start gambling. All players join in and must ante in one gold (unless they play a sometimes card to counter it), they then take turns to play gambling cards to take control of the round. Some players have many winning hands, some have lots of cheating cards, and some have gambling cards which straight up ruin it for everyone else. All characters have gambling cards, but not all are very good at it! The Pub Crawl variation is a simple concept that adds a real twist to the standard gameplay. In fact, it is such a welcome addition that there is no real reason to return to the vanilla version of gameplay.

I’ve played games with about 20 people, but it does get obnoxious if you play with more than about 5-7 players. Brother Bastian’s prayer cards can be powerful, but they come at a cost. This character gains prayer tokens throughout the game, which allow him to play the prayer cards later.Glancing at the rule book, there are actually a LOT of alternative ways to play the game for those looking to change things up. The newest of those is the Pub Crawl, which comes with its own unique set of components. The quest is ended, but by no measure is the danger gone! Red Dragon Inn by Slugfest Games is a fantastic twist on classic questing/adventuring style games; no longer are you finishing the quest, instead you’re now fighting over the gold in the midst of gambling, bribing, brawling, fooling, stealing and drinking. Lots and lots of drinking. So, line up those drinks, pay the wench and get ready, as you’re not done yet! Gameplay As you’d expect of a game about imbibing alcohol, the majority of the drinks look mouth-watering too. In fact, I’d happily down some of them myself, even having read the disastrous side effects associated with many of the brews on offer. This character has some of the most powerful action cards I’ve ever seen in the game, which become even more powerful as his chi increases. If you’ve never played one of the Red Dragon Inn games, the concept is actually a pretty simple one.

In the game, our adventuring companions are returning to the tavern after a long day. At the tavern, they will have a night of drinking, getting in fights and gambling.Better yet, maybe you’re at one of the game events right now and you have to choose a character to play. Effects may vary depending on the character’s current form. In its human form, Ripsnarl gains fury, which eventually become damage to deal to other players. Each pub has an action that triggers when the group arrive, as well as a unique selection of drinks that tend to have more of an impact than the ‘standard’ beverages on sale at the Red Dragon Inn.
