In 2023, several brands are making nekomimi-inspired cat ear headphones: Brookstone, Axent Wear, Censi, MongDa, iClever, etc... Each brand has their own take on the neko cat girl style, and each model in this list has distinct design and performance qualities. In an interviewfrom 2014, she claimed that she went as a cat for Halloween one year, and she just kept on wearing the cat ears because she liked them so much. Oh btw - there is a debossed Ariana Grande signature on the side of the earcups.
Instead, the MS1-Rainbow offers a sense of moderate engaging qualities. It is neither impacting and harsh, nor boring and too light on its feed. It is what I consider proper, smartly designed and tuned, and quite musical at the same time. I enjoy it a lot.I was unable to fix it with Foobar2000 or my MSEB system inside of the Hidizs AP80. Very nice sounding and vocalist-inspired headphones, such as my ATH ESW11LTD, make amps with this effect not really pose much of a problem. However, the MS1-Rainbow seems a little problematic in the lower midrange, as mentioned. If you are searching for headphones with astonishing sound quality or if you are a snob about headphones and sound quality, this is probably not the list for you. None of these cat ear headphones are going to rival ultra high end performance headphones. These headphones are all about the anime / neko / manga cat girl style. That being said, the headphones on this list sound fine to me, but admittedly I am not a audiophile. Additionally, I would not have included any of these headphones if their sound quality was bad or poor. Another month, another Hidizs IEM to review and I couldn’t be happier. The life of an audiophile is a good one, at least…for my ear’s sake. Today, we will be taking a gander at the MS1-Rainbow. These are wildly efficient and do not benefit at all from extra power anywhere in the listening experience. Smoothness pretty much stays the same regardless of what source I am using.
Well, swapping from a few other great IEM’s in this field to this MS1-Rainbow resulted in an odd experience in the lower midrange areas. I would call it a bit of a reverse nasal experience, almost too bloomed and engaging. Despite the offering of the IEM being upward of 40kHz in response, usually denoting excellent treble response and quantity (most of the time), I’ve found this MS1-Rainbow to be quite relaxed and enjoyable up top.

Yay! Another IEM in the budget tier that remembered not everyone is a critical listener! This IEM is quite musical to me and responds nicely to the bass boost. Headphone company Skullcandy has unveiled its limited-edition‘ Inequality Crusher’headphones in support of the LGBTQ+ community. A standard cardboard box with some design on the top. Inside, a set of light and dark IEM tips to choose from. I’ve found each of them to sound great and each offers a slightly varied sound result. The wireless bluetooth cat ear headphones from Censi Moecen are so cute. While they don't have the flashiness of the glowing, color-changing LED lights, these headphones fit much more into the catgirl style of neko / nekomimi / manga / anime. Because they don't have any lights, these headphones are much more modest, while still making a strong stylistic statement. Neko fans will absolutely love these headphones. Musicality is my path, but as a reviewer, I need to critique on an objective and critical level. Today, we are living in a time when catgirl anime fashion trends are an all-time high. Cat ear headphones are a natural progression of this fashion trend. In fact, it makes me wonder: " Why didn't someone invent these headphones years ago?!?" Best Cat Ear Headphones 2023 When it comes to comfort, these headphones feel fantastic. The earpads fit over the ear, and the headband is adjustable. I often roll with a +5dB when I use anything via my computer or my Hidizs AP80 portable music player. I love my bass, but I always make sure to disable that when testing and reviewing. Because these wireless headphones have Bluetooth technology, you can pair them with Apple devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and iMac, as well as Bluetooth-enabled Android devices. One of my favorite features is the built-in microphone. I do not enjoy messing with wires any more, so the built-in mic was something that really made these headphones standout. As for battery life, the headphones are rechargeable via USB cable, and you should expect up to 5 hours of battery life per charge. Another win in my opinion. Despite the problematic lower midrange, the IEM is very tonally coherent, relaxing, and deep-reaching on the bass end.To give you a reference point, the decibel level of a hairdryer is in the range of 90dB. Lawnmowers are closer to 100dB, and standard headphones operate in the range of 110-120dB. By usingheadphones that max out at 85dB, you are helping to protect your child's hearing.
Along with comfort and durability, safety was acritical design element. The BoostCare headphones are built with volume-limiting technology that keeps the volume in the headphones less than 85dB. What I love about these headphones is that the volume-limiting circuitry is built into the headphones. You will not have to worry about clever kids disabling the circuitryor removing an external adapter. Having the technology built into the headphones is a game-changer because you will know that the sound will never go above 85dB. As part of its year-long “ Find Your Frequency” brand campaign, Skullcandy will spotlight “expression” as June’s frequency; celebrated by Alice Longyu Gao, a Chinese born multidisciplinary emerging artist, singer-songwriter, performer and DJ Gao is a vocal champion in the LGBTQ+ community and Skullcandy will feature exclusive content and music performances featuring Inequality Crusher. One of the design elements that might go unnoticed is the synthetic leather on the earcups. Also, Censi used a high-quality silicone on the top part of the headphones. Furthermore, the inner part of the earcups contains Swedish inert sponge, which really helps with the noise-cancellation aspect of these headphones. The synthetic leather helps keep the heaphones waterproof, as they are waterproof rated IPX4, which means they are protected from water splashing in any direction. I think IPX4 really means that these headphones are sweat resistant, which means they can be used when working out. So the extent of the waterproofing is more around sweat resistance. Sweat will not cause these headphones to malfunction, but I don't recommend using them in a situation where they will be submerged in water. I’ll be using the tips highlighted in the image below which fit my ear best. No case included. To be honest, as I always say with budget-tier stuff like this, I don’t care for a lot of accessories and I actually don’t want them included. Keep the price down, that is the aim of the product. If you are looking for sleek, stylish cat ear headphones that have that neko anime style, the MongDa wireless Bluetooth hairband headphones from Padmate might be the perfect headphones for you. I'm not familiar with this brand (Padmate), so I was not sure what to expect. But I gotta say - these headphones are rad!
When it comes time for the enjoyment factor, I bass boost because I want more than a flat experience. I like rumble and depth and this MS1-Rainbow is capable of very engaging low-end experiences if you set the EQ system up properly.
