About this deal

As you may already know, we aren’t like other online book stores. For starters, we don’t believe that books should only be read once, or have a single owner. Literature should endure and be continually recycled, which is why we help millions of used books find new homes every year. I liked J.D. Robbs Interlude in Death, my first foray into the world of eve dallas. On it's own, 4 stars, would happily read more of this series.

This is an interesting and rewarding story, because it's simultaneously a tale about a talespinner and her fascination with Vadija and a tale about the power of storytelling. Since they are young children they find themselves making mistakes that seem so common sense, and then regretting their decision, but learning from it none the less. Each world they jump through they find new and interesting characters that become more and more dangerous. This reminds me of an old ninety's sit com where each episode ended in learning something vital that you can apply to your own life. The morals aren't shoved in your face quite as much, but they definitely get the point across.

Structure

A Scent of Roses" is a brilliant story about Janet who has rescued her husband from the Queen of the Fae. The author writes captivatingly about how Janet becomes interested in the Queen and what she thinks about her husband. I think that this story will enthrall everybody who loves stories about the Fae. The latest from New York Times bestselling author, Douglas E. Richards, Out of This World is a wildly entertaining science fiction/fantasy adventure for kids and adults alike. It’s all ‘magic.’ The beings that abducted their parents used ‘magic,’ and they don’t know how it (or much of anything else) works. That’s about all the explanation we get. It’s not quite as bad as saying it was all a dream, but it’s close. There is nothing about parallel worlds, multiple dimensions, or holes in space-time. All we get for an explanation for how all this happened is that it was ‘magic.’ Humans can do magic too, but the Earth has an anti-magic field around it that makes it almost impossible. Oh, and the San Andreas fault is not really a geological fault line between continental plates, it’s a magically sensitive area that will rupture if the aliens prevent portals from opening between their world and ours.

An interesting story about a young man, Arin, who works in a brothel and has to prove that he's innocent of killing a nobleman with poison. I have to mention that this story was an unexpected pleasure, because it's a wholly successful combination of different elements. Still with me? You sure? I’m going to reveal the ending. I don’t often do this, but this one rather bugged me. If you don’t want to know, stop reading this. A horrific tragedy permeates the whole story, somehow even the lives of the main characters prior to this event. Harry and his estranged daughter Sophie take turns in telling their version in alternating short chapters. This works fine. Sophie, in particular, suffers from what we gather is second hand ptsd, but is she using this an excuse? Time will tell. A story about a professional editor, Erica, who receives a box which contains a statue of a cat. Soon she meets Rashida who tells her an incredible story about the statue. In this story, a bookstore clerk Ash finds himself in quite an unusual situation as he goes on a quest for the Norns. As many speculative fiction readers are aware of, LGBTQ characters are seldom seen in speculative fiction stories, because heterosexual characters can be found everywhere. LGBTQ characters have mostly been featured in novels and stories published by independent presses, because independent presses tend to be more open-minded towards elements concerning sexual orientation and gender issues than bigger presses. Because LGBTQ characters still remain rarities in modern speculative fiction, it's great that Catherine Lundoff writes about them and explores their lives. In "The Egyptian Cat" the author showcases her sense of humour, because she has given new names to a few well-known Lovecraftian tales. These clever names will amuse everybody who has ever read H.P. Lovecraft's stories. This story also contains intriguing references to Egyptian mythology, because the author writes about Servants of Set.

New York Times bestselling author Laurell K. Hamilton —with a new Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter tale: "Magic Like Heat Across My Skin." It's been six months since vampire hunter Anita Blake has seen the two men in her life. Now a kidnapping brings them together--closer than a woman, a vampire, and a werewolf have ever been before... I liked the sections about Harry’s work as a photographer, his meditations on the role of photography in capturing history and events, but also on the limitations of this art: Another great anthology of novellas where I thoroughly enjoy all four offerings of "Love, Supernatural Style"!They find themselves transported to another world and almost run over by a pair of transparent (literally) people who seemingly don’t welcome their presence and encourage them to leave through another shimmering portal. Thus, their adventure begins, jumping through portals in search of their parents, and finding themselves in different worlds populated with strange and often dangerous creatures. Each strand follows a different set of sci-fi characters and aliens as they explore and colonise distant planets.
